【Sermon】Getting Things Done

2019-05-26 8,393 Sermon Mindset Glory Victory Grace Longing Crown

Introduction

Today, I would like to share with you a topic I am particularly fond of, “Getting Things Done.” Getting things done is no easy feat; failing is all too easy. Building an aircraft that cannot fly? Easy. Building one that can fly back and forth? That is difficult. For Christians, the ability to get things done is paramount. Today, I see many Christians shouting Hallelujah loudly, yet their work is a complete mess. Such cases are far too common. People either throw themselves entirely into their work, neglecting their faith, or they serve enthusiastically in the church but execute poorly.

Last week, we shared on “The Diligent Shall Prosper.” Why then should Christians strive? I once knew a sister who particularly admired the brother leading worship on stage. She described his demeanor as captivating. But putting on such a show is easy; living as a Christian who glorifies God is difficult.

Recently, I have had several periods of reflection and struggle. What does it truly mean for Christians to strive to enter the narrow gate? Looking back on these years of service, I have diligently pondered and am beginning to grasp something. Today, I will share what I have gleaned in the form of a manuscript. If you listen carefully, you will notice that each week's sharing is the result of my own research. I cannot tolerate rambling nonsense.

I am a very dedicated Christian, dedicated not only in my workplace but also in my service to God. Over the years, I have observed that Christians can easily stray. Entering the narrow gate requires a desperate squeeze. In the past, I preached about living abundantly, and the idea of living abundantly persists to this day. When I speak of living abundantly and pursuing excellence, the brothers and sisters often throw themselves into their work.

For a long time, I stopped preaching on this topic because I was conflicted. People would misunderstand my message and fall into the vortex of worldly love. Subsequently, I encouraged everyone to love the Lord, but I found that people were still falling into ditches, becoming overly religious. Why the constant deviation? This is what the Lord Jesus meant when He spoke of walking the narrow path and entering the narrow gate, neither veering to the left nor to the right.

Remember, the devil loves to lead us astray, either to the left or to the right. The brothers and sisters who have the opportunity to hear my sharing in our church are very fortunate. Because we strive to stay on the right path. Recently, we have been dealing with religiosity, and after that, we will deal with the love of the world, so that we can truly and steadfastly walk on the path of loving God!

Our church is characterized by its practicality, a reflection of my own personality. I build the church according to who I am. Today, the way we build the church reflects my character. You will find that I accomplish whatever I set out to do. Someone who may have judged me harshly decided to leave the church. Before leaving, he said, Whatever this person sets out to do, he will get it done. I think that is a fair assessment.

Today, I will briefly list the steps we took in creating our website. Our website's framework is clear and its content is rich. One could listen to it for a year without exhausting it. In the early stages of building the website, I personally organized every image and piece of information. The work was not easy, but I have a character that refuses to give up. We have clear Bible study goals. We have studied the New Testament almost several times, and the Old Testament extensively as well. We have written nearly 50 books, and they are well-written. Anything I set out to do, I will accomplish. If we are to have God's image, we must learn to get things done, because God is a God who gets things done.

There was a sister who seemed well-behaved. After joining us, we considered training her to become a full-time coworker. However, upon closer examination, we found that she was incapable of doing anything except shouting Hallelujah loudly. I dread those who shout Hallelujah loudly the most. Among us, lawyers will become good lawyers, and accountants will become good accountants. This is my dream. As more brothers and sisters serve, I have gradually sorted things out. It’s not really because we promoted living abundantly or loving God that people went astray. Today, we are determined to push our brothers and sisters toward living out the glory of God.

Scripture

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:6)

Prayer

Lord Jesus, I long to live out Your glorious image! Lord Jesus, I also long to accomplish every task! Lord Jesus, pour out Your power upon me today! Begin to restore Your glorious image in me! Let me live out Your glorious image, and let everything I do be accomplished! Let everything I do have a beginning and an end, never giving up! I declare in the name of Jesus Christ: I have the image of the eternal God within me, and today I long to live out this image! I know that Lord Jesus has already accomplished this for me on the cross! Today, I draw upon God's grace by faith to get things done! In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

We Must Have a Desire to Live Out the Glory of God

We must know that our God is exceptional! He has waited for so many years, until the new heaven and the new earth, in Revelation 21, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.” No matter how long things drag on, He will get things done. God can accomplish things in an instant, but what is even more remarkable is His patience with us year after year. God longs for each of us to live out His glorious image.

But do we have a thirst inside us? God will freely give the water of life to those who are thirsty. We could live out God's glorious image, but we do not. It's not because God lacks the power; it's because God patiently waits, waiting for the yearning in our hearts. In the process of serving, I can deeply feel the distress within God.

Recently, we have been quite busy. We created a very good environment to train everyone to write programs. But some people do not have a thirst to learn, and I feel very uncomfortable and exhausted. I do not understand. All along my journey, I have longed for someone to lead me, for someone to help me, and I have also longed for a very good environment.

I had a classmate whose father worked for the education bureau. When I was in school, I especially envied him. He could ask his father if he had any questions. My father was an ordinary worker, and we did not have any books to read at home. My classmate's family could create a good learning environment for him. There were many books in his house, and I often went to his house to read.

Since I was a child, I have longed for a good learning environment, but my family did not have such an environment. Later, I went to college and started working, but I never encountered a particularly good environment. After believing in the Lord, I did not encounter a particularly good pastor to lead me either. Nor did I have the ability to discern good from evil. I knew that as long as I yearned, I would grow. Therefore, I was eager to create a good environment for everyone, so that they could use this environment.

A few days ago, a child was training with me. I asked him, Do you know the value of what I am doing for you? He looked at me blankly. I created a very good environment for him, but he disappointed me greatly. He did not understand how precious such an environment was; he preferred to chat and gossip. Our God is a God who gets things done, and our God hopes that we are people who are thirsty in our hearts.

As long as we yearn, God will freely give us the water of life, so that we can get things done, so that we can do things from beginning to end, so that we can inherit God's inheritance, so that He can be our God, and we can be His children. As I was preparing this sermon and reading this passage, I was deeply moved. Our God is truly amazing. He has waited for so many years, and I have only waited for a short time? I am determined to imitate God. No matter how difficult things are, no matter how disappointed these people make me, I must get things done!

God is a God Who Gets Things Done

You must not say something very religious when things are not done: Leave everything to God! If you leave everything to God, what is your purpose! I hate these religious people the most. What you need is to do things well and get things done! Among all our brothers and sisters, if you do not have the ability, we will certainly train you to become a capable person! We do not want people to misunderstand God. Our God is amazing. Our God is a God who gets things done!

If a person cannot accomplish anything while alive, do not assume that he will return to God after death. Some people may criticize me when I say these words, but it does not matter. I think that people should yearn to be like God while they are alive! They should yearn to have God's nature, to get things done! The attribute of getting things done begins in Genesis.

The first three chapters of Genesis are the foundation of the first eleven chapters of Genesis, the first eleven chapters are the foundation of Genesis, and Genesis is the foundation of the Bible. If you ask me to prove it, I cannot. But I can find the themes of the entire Bible in Genesis. We open Genesis chapter 1, And it was so. This phrase is repeated many times. We must know that every time God does something, it is done! Among us, how many brothers and sisters have gotten things done? Or do they fail at everything they do?

Some time ago, I was really dizzy. They plastered the walls of the entire room unevenly. I asked them, Why did you plaster the wall like this? They stared at me blankly, began to fear, and messed things up. I asked them, Do you know that it was wrong to plaster the wall like this? They answered that they knew, but they still plastered all the walls like this. They just wanted to fail. They just thought: You asked me to plaster the wall, so I just plastered it. If the walls of your house were uneven, would you want them? Why did you plaster my walls like this? Before, when I was with them plastering the walls, they were smooth, but now they are uneven. I think this is not a problem of the wall, this is a problem of God's glorious image.

Brothers and sisters who have come among us, you are truly blessed! I will not lead you down a very religious path, I will lead you down a very prosperous path. Because that is God's attribute! And it was so, these words are spoken to those who have God's glorious image. We are made in God's image. We can certainly live out God's glorious image! Why have you not lived well in the past few years? Because in the past few years you have been idle, not doing proper work, lazy in mind, and lazy in hand.

Train a Character of Enduring to the End

I often see such Christians, shouting Hallelujah loudly, but it is difficult to do anything. I am very moved, and when I established the church, I decided to change this situation. For a long time, I gave many courses on Living Abundantly, and even taught them how to find a job and how to interview. Getting things done is the attribute of our God! Today, do not forget how to get things done? The most important trait is patience.

If a person has a patient character, you will be like God. In Revelation 21, persevere to the new heaven and new earth, and then say it is done. In the four Gospels of the New Testament, Jesus said it is finished when He was crucified on the cross. In Revelation, it is said that it is done. It is done means that the task is completed, It is done!

I think brothers and sisters should reflect on what kind of people they are. If you have never accomplished anything, I think you should feel very uncomfortable inside. I have carefully observed, what kind of people are doing well? People who get things done are doing well. After people get things done, the sense of satisfaction inside will really explode. If you have never done anything, the situation inside is very bad.

I asked a person, Are you happy? He said, Happy, I said, Really happy? He stopped talking. Because he has never accomplished anything, he is not valued by others, and he does not value himself, how can he be happy? I once asked many people, who like to travel, and everyone is happy after returning from traveling. But compared to getting things done, passive reception is really not enjoyable.

I have plenty of energy at my age because I have God's glorious image in me. Even now, every time I accomplish something, I never let it be left unfinished! When I was renovating, the boards could not fit in the elevator, so people had to carry them upstairs. There was a 67-year-old man near where we lived who helped me carry the boards upstairs. Later, I learned that this person was very wealthy. I was very surprised, why would he carry the boards? He said that carrying the boards was good!

I was thinking about how good it could be. After I carried them up, the boards were bumped and scratched. It was very hard. I tried very hard to prevent the boards from touching the walls, and the more I carried them, the better I felt, and the more accomplished I felt. After carrying all the boards, I felt very good. It turned out that this old man was not doing it for any other reason. Although it seemed like hard labor, it was indeed getting one thing done. Carrying the boards from the bottom to the top was much better than enjoying barbecued skewers and drinking small wine. I found that people do not live by exercise, and that life is not about movement.

God Accomplishes According to Our Yearning

The other day, my co-workers and I were discussing how to train people. I discovered that if a person fails at something repeatedly, it becomes very disheartening. If I can pave the way for them to succeed, their inner feeling improves significantly. Failure leads to a loss of confidence, while success fosters growth. The God we believe in has already paved the way for us; as long as we have a yearning heart, we will surely succeed.

Today, what has allowed us to build such a church? It is because of our inner yearning, our desire to build a glorious church for God, persevering continuously, and God fulfills what we yearn for. With yearning, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished.

The scripture says:

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (Revelation 21:6-7)

As long as you yearn to do things well, you can do them well! As long as you yearn to accomplish things, with perseverance, running the path of climbing the mountain of the Lord, you will surely succeed! Without yearning, nothing can be accomplished. God is the Alpha and the Omega, it is crucial not to leave things half-done.

Many years ago, a sister said she wanted to work with multimedia, but after half a year, she couldn't even create a webpage. I've noticed that people who fail to accomplish things have one thing in common: they are not satisfied with what they can do, and they can't achieve what they are satisfied with. Ten years have passed, and she is still in a critical state.

This sister's pastor trained her, changing her state of failing to accomplish things. In fact, the correct approach for her to make a webpage ten years ago should have been to create one first, then improve it, making small improvements every day. Wouldn't that have done it? When God initially created the heavens and the earth, He did so day by day. Growing by one percent each day results in a thirty-seven-fold increase in a year. This is very important. No matter how the devil obstructs, as long as you are a person with yearning, anything is possible!

I have been pondering how to train the character of brothers and sisters, so that everyone will go through hands-on training. People become clumsy because they don't use their hands and have little exposure; they see less and less of God's image. If they are exposed to more and do more, inspiration becomes richer, and God is a God who does new things.

God is a God Who Does New Things

If a person keeps doing the same thing over and over, it is impossible to become a person who finishes what they start. Because solving one problem leads to more problems. For example, if someone wants to build a train, they have to lay tracks. Laying tracks requires maintaining the tracks, and local resources have to be produced and transported out. Having a train requires roads, and roads require maintenance, toll stations, and so on. This is a complex system engineering project; solving one problem brings more problems. But in any case, the overall situation is progressing forward. New problems don't mean stopping; new problems bring new business opportunities.

Several decades ago, people invented personal computers. Back then, they were just typewriters because there was no internet. Later, there was the internet, and with the internet came websites, with websites came chatting, with chatting came mobile phones, with mobile phones came the internet, and later there was 3G, 4G, 5G, and it will continue to develop. Therefore, people need to constantly accomplish things. If every task is accomplished, every task is a manifestation of God's glory.

Our church needs to accomplish healing and deliverance, basic training, and basic training must train everyone in the ability and character to accomplish things. The hands-on laboratory we are building is also doing this. We will create very rich value for the whole society, and we are no longer a religious education, but a practical education that can truly accomplish things, requiring persistence and yearning! This kind of yearning and persistence is not difficult at all, but people find it difficult. Those who overcome will inherit God's promises.

Overcoming means you are thirsty and keep persisting to inherit these things. You will have the image of God's son, you will have God's image, He will be your God, and you will be His son. We begin to have a glorious hope inside, not just going to heaven after death, but being able to accomplish everything while alive, which is part of God's salvation.

Chinese Mingding Destiny corrects many erroneous theological concepts. Our God is the God of the living, able to live out the glorious image of God while we are alive, and this is salvation. If we do not live out the glorious image of God while alive and think that we will go to heaven after death, that is not what the Bible says.

Some people say, If we go to heaven after death, then we should just sin while alive. The thief hanging on the cross next to Jesus lived the best life. Being a thief all his life is nothing to enjoy. What good can a thief do? There is no sense of satisfaction inside. However, if you live out the glorious image of God while alive, and you can accomplish everything you do, you will enjoy it. In that case, how wonderful life would be!

Training the Ability to Accomplish Things

Our healing and deliverance starts with persistence, with each healing and deliverance persisting until the person is healed. Unless a person's time to die has come, there's nothing I can do. But for those whose time has not come, we can heal them. So, brothers and sisters, let us start training the ability to accomplish things today. We also work with brothers and sisters to train this ability, which is part of salvation, a concept of Chinese Mingding Destiny.

Persist, persist, and persist again, and there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. How wonderful is our God! Has it all been accomplished today? Not yet. It is not until Revelation 21 that it is accomplished. What you persist in today is all within God's plan, implemented step by step. He knows that the final result will be like this. This is our God. Our God will surely accomplish things and will surely accomplish His great plan in us. However, if you do not overcome, the end is the road to destruction. The Scripture describes it like this:

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

Sometimes I think, God, some people are born timid. What can be done about that? The timid are thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, because our God does not have the problem of being timid. If we have the problem of being timid, it is because we do not believe. If you believe in God, you will not be timid. Believing in God means believing that what you do will be accomplished, not a worldly dream, but a divine dream. Today, we must have a yearning within us to be a blessing to all nations and peoples on earth.

In my vision, I have clearly seen God's plan for us. God wants to raise up a group of people in these last days to completely correct many misconceptions of faith and completely change the lifestyle of every brother and sister. This will allow us to live out the glorious image of God and begin to remove healing, deliverance, basic training, people's character, people's timidity, and unbelief, so that we can live out the glorious image of God and accomplish things.

I especially like doing carpentry, and I realized that Jesus Christ was also a carpenter. The reason I started doing carpentry early on might make you laugh. In the early years of building the church, I could not see the future of the church. Although I saw the future in the eyes of faith, the situation was that one person came in and out every day, and I felt uncomfortable. I decided to let go of the discomfort and start doing carpentry.

When doing carpentry, I could focus on one thing. When things were accomplished, the uncomfortable feeling disappeared. When I finished things, I felt especially joyful, and every time I felt joyful, it was a great grace to me. A person carries a bag to work and sits in the office all day. A day passes, a month passes, a year passes, and if there is no change, people will feel very uncomfortable.

But I persisted, and I persevered through those days by doing carpentry. Every time I finished something, I felt very satisfied. I often do carpentry and often do things, so I live in a very youthful and enjoyable state. Some time ago, I did some manual labor, which was very liberating! There were several walls to knock down, so I knocked them down myself. At first, I didn't know how to knock them down, but later I found the trick, and I finished it in a while. Seeing the work I did, I felt very satisfied, even though I was covered in sweat and dust, I also accomplished the task.

Enjoy the Satisfaction of Accomplishing Things

Brothers and sisters, if you are timid, you cannot accomplish things. Timidity cannot overcome, and without overcoming, it is impossible to accomplish things. Without yearning, there is neither beginning nor end.

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)

Why do people lie? If you don't have the ability, how can you survive without lying? Did you do this? No? Why did you say you did? To save face! How can you not feel uncomfortable? If you want to live out the glorious image of God today, you must know that accomplishing things is a great enjoyment.

Are there any people among us who have graduated from college for more than five years? If you have been working for more than five years and you do not have any experience, you will face great challenges in the future. Because you have not achieved anything, you have not accomplished anything. When people ask you what you have ever accomplished, if you say you haven't, how will you find a job? Even a degree from Tsinghua University is not very useful; the value of any degree is halved after a long time of work, but the gold content of what you have accomplished does not decrease.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must develop the habit of accomplishing things, to persist until the things are accomplished, and that is the glorious image of God. One day when you leave this world, you can say to God, I have finished the race, I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith, and from now on, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness!

The Scripture is written like this:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)

Can we persevere until that time? I have finished the race, I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith. From now on, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.

Steadfastly Accomplish Everything

In the days to come, my co-workers and I will develop a series of courseware to train brothers and sisters to accomplish things. We will lay down a step for you, one step at a time. If you have this ability, join us in participating in this ministry, participating in building these courseware trainings, and helping them take one step after another upward until they accomplish things.

This includes writing programs, doing carpentry, learning to use EXCEL, doing accounting, being a lawyer, and being a salesperson. I thank my God for putting this burden in my heart. Some people say, Can you believe in the Lord well like this? Isn't this neglecting your main job? This is the main job. Not only that, but we must do healing and deliverance even better. Why can't many people be delivered? Because after being delivered, they go back and fail at doing things, and then they come back to us for deliverance, shouting wildly again. After they go back, they still fail at doing things, and then they come back again. We are doing a never-ending task.

To break this cycle, we must train people to accomplish things. People come to me with a joyful face, without the need for such hysterical, wailing deliverance. Steadfastly accomplish everything.

Be a salesperson with good results, a great exorcist, a great preacher, write a great book, make the website very beautiful, write the program very well, decorate the house beautifully, comfortably, and usefully, and make the design very stylish.

This is us! No matter what we do, we do it as if we were doing it for God, to display His glorious image. That way, our healing and deliverance will not be in a dead cycle. We must not live in false delusions. If we entrust such things to God, and after entrusting them, we are still struggling, isn't that right?

Resolve to change yourself today! Encourage everyone to accept very substantial training to completely deal with laziness, timidity, and unbelief, to believe that I have the glorious image of God in me. To believe that I can accomplish things, to believe that I have such potential and such ability, to completely reject the devil's lies, to stop playing pretenses and get serious! Even if it is hard, persist, there is no price that cannot be paid, and there is no flaming mountain that cannot be crossed!

Whether in the workplace or in healing and deliverance, we must see things being accomplished. Make an airplane that can fly, make a car that can run, not make an airplane that cannot fly, or push a car, which is not the glorious image of God. In this era, completely overthrow religious faith and become people who create value in this era. The days of poverty must pass, the days of disease must pass, and by relying on our God, we can completely live out the glorious image of God and accomplish everything.

If you cannot accomplish it, you must know that we are behind you. You must know that behind us is God, and in one heart and mind, we are building God's glorious church. Every brother and sister comes to God's sanctuary to receive God's word and reshape a shining life.

At that time, God will surely place a crown of glory on our heads. Because when we live on earth, although we shed tears and sweat, and although we pay a heavy price, that is the glorious image of God. People pay the price for laziness, but today we must begin to serve God fervently, overcome the laziness of the flesh, and begin to walk the path of living out God's glorious image, accomplishing everything, because we have God!

May God bless you all!
