【Bible Study】1 Samuel Chapter 09 - God is Looking for People After His Own Heart

2022-08-17 51,198 1 Samuel Aligned with God's Heart Divine Guidance Divine Election Stiff-Neckedness Honorable Identity Aligned with God's Heart

Introduction

Good morning! We will be reading from 1 Samuel chapter 9. What is 1 Samuel about? That is something worth pondering. I believe that the theme of 1 and 2 Samuel is this: I am sure all of you are familiar with the stories in 1 and 2 Samuel. Think about it, let us try to work it out together. I may not be able to put it perfectly, but let us attempt it together.

The theme which I used to consider was the royal priesthood, the royal kingship. However, in the last two days, as I was reflecting on this theme, I felt that the theme we consider in each chapter must align with this central theme. I believe that the central theme of these two books is: God is seeking after a man or woman after His own heart. Whether king or priest, it is someone after God’s own heart whom He is seeking. Before, there was old Eli, and later Samuel was found. Before there was King Saul, and later King David was found. Later, David became a king after God’s own heart in human history.

In fact, God has always been selecting people. Sometimes He seems to have selected well, and other times not so well. Therefore, God is seeking after a person after His own heart. How does God seek? 1 and 2 Samuel are actually about God seeking after a person after His own heart. 1 Samuel chapter 9 tells the story of searching for donkeys. The whole story does not seem like something that the 《Bible》would write. Rather, it sounds like a fairy tale, or a story that grandparents tell their grandchildren: Once upon a time, there was a mountain, and on the mountain, there was a temple... Like that. Samuel wrote this story about searching for donkeys. What can we summarize from it concerning God is seeking after a person after His own heart.

People often experience God throughout their lives, which may not be exactly like this story, but through this story, we can see that people often experience God throughout their lives. Today, among us, there are not many people who have not experienced God. But later, I discovered that many people forget after experiencing God. This is a very strange thing. After people experience God, they either forget or do not take God seriously. People do not take the experience of God seriously and continue to live their lives as they always have. As life goes on, they eventually forget God. What result does this attitude bring? When people are judged by God, one is completely without excuse.

People are already completely without excuse, whether King Saul or King David, they were without excuse before God. That is you and I. We were not chosen by God to be kings, but we were also chosen by God. You and I, after experiencing God, will also be without excuse in the future. In the future, you cannot say, It was not like this, it was like that. The reason why I did not trust God was because of this, because of that. Why is there no excuse? Because each of us often experiences God. Are there many people among us who have experienced God? Yes, there are many.

Then his servant said, “Look, now, there is in this city a man of God who is held in honor; all that he says surely comes to pass. Let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go.” (1 Samuel 9:6)

Everyone knows that in Israel there is a man of God, whose name is Samuel, and this is almost known to every household in Israel. You see, everyone knows, and when people seek something or ask the man of God about something, they all come to Samuel. Moreover, people know that everything he says comes to pass because God is with Samuel. People know this God and also know this man of God. What is the problem? The problem is, you know, so what? In other words, you have experienced God, so what?

God is seeking after a person after His own heart. God gives revelation to everyone, and everyone has experienced spiritual things. If you say, I have not experienced God, that is pretending not to have experienced Him. You say you haven't, but once you start talking, there are many such experiences. If you do not trust God, how will you respond to God when He judges you in the future? In fact, everyone knows God, and everyone knows the man of God, but we often forget.

Experiencing God Through Searching for Donkeys

You can experience God through searching for donkeys, and you can experience God even more through illness. There are many experiences of God through illness. You also experience God through finding a job, and you experience God in everything you do. There was a man named Kish, who was Saul’s father. This matter is very interesting. Kish lost a few donkeys and asked his son to find them. In people’s eyes, searching for donkeys means searching everywhere. But in fact, searching everywhere is also very interesting. Saul walked and walked, and walked a long way. How did he walk so far? It seems like he walked on his own, but in fact, as he was searching, he found Samuel, the Man of God. Brothers and sisters, have you noticed? You encountered some things at that time, and you searched and searched, and as a result, you found Chinese Mingding Destiny. Isn’t that very divine? You may not have thought of finding Chinese Mingding Destiny, but when people encounter things in life, they begin to search. In the past few years, I have often seen some people in our midst experiencing God.

A few days ago, someone came to see me. Several years ago, this person was unable to have children, and then she came into our midst. Who ministered to her? Actually, it was not a very impressive pastor. According to her description, it was an 18th-tier small pastor. According to the hierarchy of first-tier and second-tier cities, the 18th-tier would probably be a small village. In our midst, an 18th-tier small pastor, the kind that is not well-known. Later, I actually asked who it was, and indeed, it was an 18th-tier small pastor. After ministering to her, she really had a child. Now the child is several years old, and she really experienced God. But after experiencing God, then what? Searching for donkeys, wanting children, many people experience God. Some people have a pulled muscle in their stomach, some people have a pulled muscle in their back, some people have a pulled muscle in their leg, some people have a pulled muscle in their neck... There are many people who experience God. If I were to tell stories, there would really be many.

One person I ministered to, the muscles on both sides of his neck were pulled tightly, and he could not move his head. If he wanted to turn his head, he had to turn his body. When he turned his head, the muscle would tighten very tightly, like a steel wire pulled very tightly, which was very scary. I prayed once and it didn’t get better, I prayed again and it still didn’t get better, I prayed for many days and it still didn’t get better. One day, I understood that this was a zombie spirit. When he was young, he watched horror movies, and after watching them, he was scared, so he wrapped himself in a blanket. From that time on, he watched and was scared to death, watched and was scared to death, watched and was scared to death. These two muscles in his neck were tense, and his neck was stiff.

Later, I discovered that zombies are stiff, unable to turn their heads, and their bodies have to turn with their heads. Later, I cast out the zombie spirit because he watched zombie movies. When the demon was cast out, the zombie spirit manifested, and the muscles on this person’s back were distorted. To what extent were they distorted? The gap in the middle of the muscle could even hold a wine bottle. It was very powerful, and the muscles bulged out. After the zombie spirit was cast out, his neck got better. You say he experienced God, right? But after people experience God, their summary is far from sufficient.

Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, “Please tell me, where is the seer’s house?” Samuel answered Saul and said, “I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you shall eat with me today; and tomorrow I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart. As for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not set your mind on them, for they have been found. (1 Samuel 9:18-20)

Saul's search for the donkey is very interesting. As he searched, he found the prophet Samuel. How did Samuel know? You see, even in this small matter of finding a donkey, don't think that many things in our lives are accidental. There are not many accidental things in life. Therefore, you must know that God often reveals Himself to us in our lives and often allows us to experience Him. Experiencing Him is not just a little bit, but it all sounds like a fairy tale. Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must know how powerful Samuel is! On the first day, God told Samuel that at this time tomorrow, a Benjamite would come to you, and I will anoint him to be the ruler of my people Israel, to be the king of Israel. Think about it, why did Saul need to experience God when he was looking for a donkey? God wanted him to know that God is in control. God wanted him to conclude that when he becomes king in the future, he must know that God is in control.

God is seeking after a person after His own heart. What does it mean to be a person after His own heart? A person after God's own heart is one who knows that God is in control. Everyone must know that it is God who deposes kings and establishes kings! The throne is not something you have won on your own, it is given to you by God. That is to say, not only the king of Israel, but which of the people of Israel did not experience God? On the way out of Egypt, who did not experience God? A pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. Which of the Christians among us today does not experience God? Everyone owes God a favor! It is not a human favor, but a divine favor! Our God has good intentions, allowing every chosen person to experience Him. After experiencing Him, what do you choose to do?

Sometimes, I can easily come up with a lot of past experiences, but some people forsake God after experiencing Him. I tell you, the curse is very deep in this life, it's not that I'm cursing him! I'm just stating the fact of the curse. In reality, even if I don't say it, he will still live in the curse and will not get better. This life will be very miserable. The 《Bible》says so:

And they passed through the mountains of Ephraim and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they did not find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, and they were not there. Then he passed through the land of Benjamin, but they did not find them. (1 Samuel 9:4)

Where did they wander? I also find it strange. How can they wander hundreds of kilometers in search of a few donkeys? Can donkeys go that far? What's more, you don't have any clues at all, and you're just searching blindly! In fact, I tell you, the road of a person's life is often walked blindly. But you think you are walking blindly, but God is actually guiding you! God is guiding Saul. As he walked, he came to the man of God. The road of searching for donkeys was an experience with God!

People Reject God, But God Still Cares for People

Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him commander over My people Israel, that he may save My people from the hand of the Philistines; for I have looked upon My people, because their cry has come to Me.” (1 Samuel 9:16)

The Israelites rejected God as their king, and then they asked God to establish a king for them. God established a king for them, who was this Saul. Look carefully, people want to establish a king and reject God, but God still cares for them. What do you think? How great is the grace of our God! I tell you, if God were to hold us accountable, there would be no end! With our small stature, how many times have we rejected God as our king!

Brothers and sisters, please tell me, if God were to crush us to death, there would be a good reason to, but God did not crush us to death and still cares for us, and we often reject Him as our king. As soon as something happens, they are afraid of the boss, as soon as something happens, they are afraid of work, as soon as something happens, they are afraid of the project, and as soon as something happens, they put God aside. Then as soon as something happens, they can't put anything down, but they can put God down. You say, isn't this bewitched? Then people experience God, and after a while, they leak urine, after a while, they leak feces, after a while, their intestines leak, and after a while, something else leaks. Oh my! My God! After a while, their nose doesn't work, their head doesn't work, their ears don't work, their legs don't work, this doesn't work, that doesn't work. If any part doesn't work, it's enough for you to suffer.

But, after experiencing God, the most surprising thing to me is, God! How can you be so good? People don't want you to be king, but you still care for your people. Oh! God is so good! Even if the anus leaks, the urine leaks, and the system is not very good, as soon as people turn to God, God heals us. I think we are fortunate that we are not doing this job. If we were doing it, you would say, Why are you like this? Wouldn't we slap a few people to death as soon as we came up? I tell you, there are too many people who reject God.

Someone came to me. He was looking for a job in Singapore, but he couldn't get a permit. After the government reviewed it, it was rejected. Then he came into our midst, and everyone prayed for him, and as a result, it was approved. After it was approved, I said, You have to believe in God! But the other party said, Then you have to help me solve the problems at work? Hey! God has solved the problems that you couldn't solve. Can't God help you solve the problems that you can solve even more? As a result, people abandoned God first. That's how people are.

Those who have problems giving birth, after praying and giving birth, immediately throw God aside. Anyway, I tell you, that's how it is. People always reject God as their king. I tell you, why do I say that people often experience God in their lives? God just wants you to have no excuse when you come before God and say, Why am I like this? Because of this and that... There is no excuse. You have experienced God a lot, but you abandon God every time. Isn't that right? We are all like this.

The Israelites were like this, from the 《Exodus》to 《Samuel》, from 《Samuel》to 《Nehemiah》, from Nehemiah to Jesus Christ, and from Jesus Christ to today. People have hardly changed! As soon as people return to earthly life, there are only those little things in front of them. In the past, they encountered unsolvable problems, despaired, and then came to find God. God helped you solve the unsolvable problems. Like finding a donkey, they couldn't find it. They didn't even have the ability to find a donkey. They established you as a king, and you think you have the ability? You can't even find a donkey, what can you find? Finding a donkey, giving birth to a child, finding a job, what doesn't need to rely on God? When I was looking for a job, I really relied on God. From that time on, I felt that it was so good to have God! It is so good to have God!

People want to reject God, but God still cares for them. Remember, how long, wide, high, and deep is the love of God! God allows us to often experience Him. Often experiencing Him means often returning to Him. Often experiencing Him means often not rejecting God and not rejecting God. Oh! I just think, what is God searching for in heaven and on earth? God is searching for a person after His own heart. If we find such a person, can we be a person after God's own heart before God? God does not want us to be out of His will. God has good intentions for us. If you and I can imitate Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Samuel, Moses, David, and people of all ages who are after God's own heart, do what is right in the eyes of the Lord, and be willing to have God reign in our lives, how good it would be to become a person after God's own heart! You will be like Samuel, becoming a man of God. What you say, God will accomplish!

Then tell me, is it good to be a person like Samuel? Samuel’s life was really good. From birth to old age, his life was smooth and he lacked nothing because God was with him. I dream of being such a person! How good was Joseph's life in 《Genesis》! As a slave, God was with him. As a prisoner, God was with him. As a prime minister, God was with him. The problems we can't solve, people with God can solve! So, brothers and sisters, why does God do this? Why does God want you and me to experience God? It is to make us a people after His own heart, to make us princes and princesses before Him, and to allow us to inherit what Jesus Christ did before Him.

Brothers and sisters, repent from today onwards and stop forsaking God. Think about it: If you willfully forsake God today, willfully forsake God tomorrow, and willfully forsake God the day after tomorrow, and become a stiff-necked people, can it end well? It can't end well. God always cares for people. If people forsake God, God still cares. If we become a people after God's own heart, how much care will there be! Can everyone agree with what I am saying? If you agree, return to God and don't be stiff-necked. As soon as you live, you live in the world's logic system, pleasing this one and pleasing that one, but you don't want to please God. Then diseases increase, and they start crying: God! Pastor! Pray for me. Seeing this situation, I feel sad. Don't wait until you leak urine, leak feces, leak intestines, and leak stomach before you know to find God. Then how much will you leak?

Everything in a Person's Life Is Prearranged by God

Brothers and sisters must understand that God prearranges not only the lives of those who believe in Him, but also the lives of those who do not believe in Him. Everyone's life is prearranged by God. Don't think that your path is walked blindly by yourself. Even on the road of finding a donkey, you will discover that God inexplicably led Saul to the man of God. Isn't that amazing! Those who come into our midst in this life are all wonderfully led by God. As you walk, you come to Chinese Mingding Destiny and begin to experience God. Therefore, I tell you, some people are often confused, how did I come here? How did I experience God like this? Before experiencing God, how many of us abandoned God?

There was a person who became confused as soon as something happened. As soon as they became confused, menstrual pain would return, and the muscle in their back would also be pulled, and the thing in their stomach would also be pulled, and a lot of things would come out. You say, isn't this the grace of God? In fact, it is all the grace of God. Experiencing these things is to awaken us and not be a stiff-necked people. We must know that God leads us on the path of our lives, what are you afraid of? Has the donkey been found? It has been found. When you come into our midst, as long as you are a seeker, God will definitely lead you. What is feared is that people do not seek and do not summarize.

Yesterday happened to be when I led prayer, and when I led prayer, I happened to read 《John》Chapter 9: A man who was born blind, and later Jesus made him see. Think about it: You also saw this man who was born blind, and later could see. I also saw this man who was born blind, and later could see. The Pharisees also saw this man who was born blind, and later could see. Then what? Then people's reactions are very different. Can you understand? The Pharisees asked the man who was born blind:

Then they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?” He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?” (John 9:26-27)

After a while, the Pharisees asked the blind man again: How did you see? The blind man said: I have already told you, why do you ask again? As a result, the Pharisees said:

Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from.” (John 9:28-29)

Can you understand? It is difficult to understand. Experiencing God is a wonderful thing, and Saul's experience of finding a donkey is also wonderful. Throughout the entire 《Bible》, our God has been wonderfully leading, as long as people are not stiff-necked. He made the man who was born blind to see, this person must have come from God, right? If he had not come from God, how could the man who was born blind see? But the Pharisees didn't see it that way. The Pharisees said that this person was a sinner. Then the man who was born blind said:

Whether He is a sinner or not, I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25)

Since the creation of the world, there have not been many who could make a man born blind see! Brothers and sisters, I must tell you: Among us, there were those who were about to go blind, but after our ministry, their eyes got better. Their eyes got better, but they became confused again. Whether they are still confused today, I do not know. You have to change! You are confused all the time, when will you stop being confused? How long will God keep caring for you? Therefore, the path of our life is a wonderful arrangement of God. It is hoped that you can make a good summary: God is in control, and I can no longer be confused. There are many problems in life! After a while, the donkey is gone, after a while, the job is gone, after a while, something else is gone. You just slowly fix it!

Once, someone testified about losing their keys, searching high and low, and then remembering to pray! Upon praying, the keys were found. But after finding the keys, was there any summary or takeaway? None whatsoever. Therefore, I encourage everyone to diligently summarize! It is all predetermined by God. At this time, God intends to establish Saul as king, to choose him. Did Saul apply for it? No. Did Saul participate in an election to get it? No. It is simply that God wants to choose Saul as king, even though Saul's background is not particularly impressive.

Your Background Does Not Hinder God's Choice

Saul said, I am from the smallest tribe of Benjamin in Israel. As you know, the entire tribe of Benjamin was nearly wiped out, leaving only a few hundred people. Over time, these few hundred people gradually built themselves up to become the smallest tribe in Israel. Saul's father, Kish, was not from a prominent family either. This background of being from a small family within the smallest tribe does not hinder God's choice of you. Therefore, one must understand that even if their background is not great, their knowledge is limited, and their learning is not extensive, and they might spend their lives just finding a donkey, God can still choose you and allow you to experience honor. Thus, in God's eyes, it is not about your origin but whether you are a person after God's own heart. God gives you opportunities, and if you are willing to be a person after God's own heart, God will give you more.

Can everyone understand this? After God chooses you, do not be like Peter. For example, God chose Peter to be an apostle to the Gentiles. Everyone knows that Peter was the first to preach the gospel to the Gentiles. But after all the effort, it came to naught. Later, God had to choose Paul to become an apostle to the Gentiles. Therefore, brothers and sisters, even if our backgrounds are not impressive – whether we are fishermen or farmers – these things do not hinder God's choice of you. What is important is not our background but whether we have the will to become a people after God's own heart. God's original intention is for you and me to become princes and princesses before Him.

We were originally destined to be princes and princesses, holding such noble titles, yet people do not value them. Instead, they value the most worthless things. They place too much importance on their work, their children, their families, and their small businesses. Does this make sense? It does not. We must change our catering to the flesh. We have too much garbage in our minds, and we must change!

God chooses us to experience Him time and time again, but have we changed inside? Are we living as the noble princes and princesses we are meant to be? No! We insist on being like Lot. What kind of person was Lot? Lot was a person who lost his destiny! Originally, he left Haran with Abraham and entered the Promised Land together. Originally, under Abraham's name, he could have become Abraham's adopted son, but he insisted on going to Sodom, on doing business to make money. He emphasized the quality of life and hygiene, and he and his wife were very focused on their family.

In that promiscuous city of Sodom, although he raised his daughters relatively well, what was he doing in that place? We do not know. What principles could he uphold in the promiscuous city of Sodom? Yet, surprisingly, his two daughters remained virgins in such a place, which is quite miraculous. Is this praiseworthy? It is, in a way. But what was the end result? A person who lost his destiny was left with only a jar of wine. What did he value? Later, Peter, who commended Lot, was originally chosen by God to be an apostle to the Gentiles, but he gave up this noble title, this noble destiny, to Paul. Did he give it up? Did he stop doing it? You ask me, why did he stop doing it? It is not found in the Bible. Then what did he do instead? Who knows what he did. Later, God chose Paul to be an apostle to the Gentiles. Fortunately, Paul had the character to build a glorious church based on his teachings, which we still follow today.

Did you hear that? Background is not important! Whether you are a fisherman or a woodcutter is not important. What is important is whether you can be a person after God's own heart, whether you can understand God's will. If you understand God's will, what problems remain? The problems become simple. If you consistently experience God throughout your life, what can you summarize? Many of us have experienced God, haven't we? You have all experienced a lot! I have not experienced as much as you have.

Sometimes, I worry for my brothers and sisters, who have experienced so much and then say, Actually, teacher, I have not experienced as much as you have. I say, Silly child, when I experienced God, I was not looking for a donkey. I was looking for a job. I just wanted to be a small donkey, to find a job to support myself. That was it, and God gave me a job. I am telling you, that was taking God seriously. You say you have experienced little? Among us, some have suffered from life-threatening illnesses. I ask you, have you experienced less than I have? You have experienced more! Have you summarized it? Therefore, brothers and sisters, you must know that God wants to honor us, to let us experience honor.

God Wants Us to Be Honored

You know that when Samuel heard God say, This Saul is the one I will choose as king of Israel, he had Saul sit in the most honorable, highest position and offered him the most honorable sacrificial meat to eat with Samuel. Samuel was a significant figure in Israel. Although he had stepped down, I tell you, his influence among the Israelites was still very great. That is to say, if Samuel honored you in front of everyone, the honor you received was immense. But Saul seemed to have no special feeling about it. He was a bit foolish! With the character of someone who looks for donkeys, he was handsome, but his mind did not seem to be very sharp.

God lets Saul be honored, God lets us be honored. What is our response? I am from the smallest tribe, from the most insignificant family background, and my life is just about finding donkeys. Today, I can be honored? Should we not reflect on ourselves? Sometimes, some of our brothers and sisters buy a plane ticket to come see me from afar. Do you think I really want to see you? Actually, I do not really want to see you. I entertain you, drive you around to see this and that. Do I need to do these things? Actually, I do not need to do these things. I just want to honor everyone. Why do I want to honor everyone? Because this is what God wants us to do. If we want to be great in God's kingdom, we must be servants, we must be servants of all. I serve you not because you deserve to be served, but because I am willing to serve.

Brothers and sisters, do not get it backwards. Some things you say are just exasperating. Some people say, Teacher, didn't you say to serve in this way? Didn't you say that if I call you, you would always answer? I think to myself, but when you call, am I not serving others? Do I not have to do things one by one? As if it is my obligation! I feel upset. I say, Brothers and sisters, I tell you, today I serve before God, and I do not owe God anything in my conscience. I serve everyone wholeheartedly, as if serving God. When do you have the right to ask me such a question? The sermons I preach, the words I say, are what I demand of myself. These words are also for you. You should also demand these things of yourself, not use them to demand things of me. I tell you, if it were not for God's grace, I would really want to punch you, clench my fist and really want to hit someone. God, have mercy on me!

What is this nonsense! Then after I say these things to you, you say, Didn't you say this yourself in your sermon? One of our sisters is quite interesting, very mixed up! Didn't you say that you should serve in this way? I call and send messages, why don't you reply? Pastors receive so many messages every day, and they have to clear them one by one, right? Then you are there judging good and evil, telling yourself that you must learn from David.

What do you think? Are you treating the pastor as Saul? I must imitate Samuel! Are you treating your pastor as old Eli? You say, I am Joseph! But even if it is like this, what Joseph are you? He does not owe you anything. You have read the whole story backwards, only emphasizing your own little things. When you suddenly receive honor, you forget who you are! Just like Saul, after becoming king, he forgot that his name was Saul! He forgot that he had once looked for donkeys. Just a life of looking for donkeys, met by God, and God lifted him up and made him honorable. In the end, he really thinks he is all that! What kind of mind is this? It is just a mind that does not work well.

I think, if we are suddenly honored, we must not become spoiled. Do not forget who you are. If you want to be great in the eyes of God, you must be the servant and servant of all. If you want people to honor you and serve you, do not end up not knowing who you are! Although your background is not impressive, we will never serve you because you are a businessman, nor because you have more or less money.

The point is to let you know that you are destined to be a noble prince or princess. it's not for you to be served, it's for you to washing other people's feet. Instead, you should serve everyone. Therefore, in God's kingdom, to be great, you must be able to serve everyone, be a servant of all. I am willing to do it, but I am not picky. After I serve, I have the right to discern good and evil, but I do not discern good and evil. I hope those of you who do not have the right to discern good and evil should especially not discern good and evil. I think we were originally garbage in a garbage dump. God chose us and gave us the title of prince and princess. Then what should we do? I must imitate God, imitate Jesus Christ, and have such a broad mind that even if people reject God, God still cares for them.

Summarize That God Is in Control

Brothers and sisters! Experiencing God often in life is meant to let you know and begin to summarize a pattern! Can you summarize a pattern? Can you sort out the experiences you have had throughout your life? Summarize the past sixty years at sixty years old, summarize the past fifty years at fifty years old, and summarize the past seventy years at seventy years old. What can you summarize? What you summarize is that God is in control! If you summarize that God is in control, will you still be a stiff-necked people? God can give life and can also take it away; God can make people rich and can also make people poor; God can do all things. God gives both blessings and curses. What are you going to do? Are you willing to put down your petty calculations and let go of those things to become a person with a destiny?

If you can become a person with a destiny, a person after God's own heart, like Samuel, like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David, and others, doing what is right in God's eyes, how much people experience God, how abundant is the glory people experience. I am deeply moved! People just have to be stiff-necked, and to what extent? To the point that either something is leaking here or something is leaking there. Some time ago, there was a sister who thought she loved God, to what extent? To the extent that she would leak urine when she coughed. Are there any among us who leak urine? Do you know what lala niao is? It means wearing adult diapers all the time, leaking urine. Oh! And still thinking she loves God very much. What love is that? She is full of the bad habits of loving the world! Some time ago, I asked her pastor if she still leaked urine. Her pastor said, She has stopped leaking urine and does not love the world so much anymore, is not so carnal anymore.

Some of us brothers and sisters have been following me in faith for more than just a year or two! Three, five, seven, eight, nine, or ten years! We have experienced so much among us. How is it that after all these experiences, we end up leaking urine? Some time ago, I ministered to her, and I scolded her. Do you want to leak feces too? Leaking urine is easy to handle, just use an adult diaper. But what about leaking feces? You have to mix it with mud! It sounds so disgusting. You say, Should we not repent? I think, how difficult it is to give people a destiny! How difficult it is to become a noble prince or princess, honored by God! Brothers and sisters! I think the grace you have experienced may not be less than what Saul experienced! You may have experienced even more than Saul! Good! Today, brothers and sisters, let us change well and become people with a destiny.

After so many years, summarize it well and get rid of the foolish things! We have experienced God not just a little bit! It is so much that it is difficult to understand! I feel that our spiritual vision is still lacking a bit. Some time ago, I ministered to someone, not long ago, because his neck was not working well. I started pinching this and that part, knowing that it was just pinching acupoints. Two days later, he came back and asked me a question that made me feel uncomfortable, really uncomfortable.

He said, Teacher, you led me in prayer, pinching this part and that part, but later I went to a TCM clinic and had them give me acupuncture, needling this and that. But why does it not work? I said, I asked you to give an offering, but you offered the money to the TCM, offered it to the massage parlor behind your house, offered it to that TCM clinic. I said, This is a spiritual matter, not a matter of pressing and pinching. If that person has some evil spirits, it will be even worse for you.

Brothers and sisters, let us be spiritual people, with such spiritual vision. We must know that it is not that I am pressing that thing to make it work, but it is God's Spirit working there that makes it work. Do you understand? Does a TCM clinic have God's Spirit? I find it very speechless! It is not acupuncture that solves the problem, nor is it massage that solves the problem. It is the word of God, the Spirit of God, that can solve the problem. If today you and I can summarize that God is in control, that God is in control in this world, even the path you take to find a donkey is controlled by God, what else can you say?

Not trusting this God is truly deserving of divine punishment and destruction! If this person does not love God, he is accursed! God often lets us experience Him, full of abundant grace! It is not a matter of finding a donkey, it is a matter of experiencing God! Brothers and sisters, after you experience it, I encourage you to summarize it well! For example, I often talk about the view of the church, but many people still have not been able to establish a view of the church to this day, and they just like to make a mess.

Some time ago, wasn't there someone who had a fracture? Three bones in the back of the foot were broken. Originally, they had to have surgery, but after praying, they were healed and fully recovered, and then? Then there was nothing. There was also someone who had cancer, and I served him and helped him selflessly. What was the result? He went somewhere else and said, The pastor is really loving! As if I needed him to say that to me. I do not really need to hear that. People just do this and that. I think, people should not run wildly on the road to destruction! That is a rhythm for dying! Okay? I earnestly advise you to study well what it means to love God and to not be self-righteous anymore.

May God bless everyone!

1 Samuel Chapter 9

9:1 There was a Benjamite, a man of standing, whose name was Kish son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bekorath, the son of Aphiah of Benjamin.
9:2 Kish had a son named Saul, as handsome as any young man in Israel, and he was over a head taller than any of the others.
9:3 Now the donkeys belonging to Kish, Saul's father, were lost; so Kish said to his son Saul, Take one of the servants with you and go and look for the donkeys.
9:4 So he passed through the hill country of Ephraim and through the area around Shalisha, but they did not find them. They went on into the district of Shaalim, but the donkeys were not there. Then he passed through the territory of Benjamin, but they did not find them.
9:5 When they came to the region of Zuph, Saul said to the servant who was with him, Let's go back, or my father will stop thinking about the donkeys and start worrying about us.
9:6 But the servant replied, Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he does comes true. Let's go there now. Perhaps he can tell us what way to take.
9:7 Saul said to his servant, If we go, what can we give the man? The food in our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God. What do we have?
9:8 The servant answered him again. Look, he said, I have a quarter of a shekel of silver. I will give it to the man of God so that he will tell us what way to take.
9:9 (Formerly in Israel, if a man went to inquire of God, he would say, Come, let us go to the seer, because the prophet of today used to be called a seer.)
9:10 Saul said to his servant, That's a good idea. Come, let's go. So they set out for the town where the man of God was.
9:11 As they were going up the hill to the town, they met some girls coming out to draw water, and they asked them, Is the seer here?
9:12 He is, they answered. He's ahead of you. Hurry now; he has just come to our town today, for the people have a sacrifice to offer at the high place.
9:13 As soon as you enter the town, you will find him before he goes up to the high place to eat. The people will not begin eating until he comes, because he must bless the sacrifice; afterward, those who are invited will eat. Go up now; you should find him about this time.
9:14 They went up to the town, and as they were entering it, there was Samuel, coming toward them on his way up to the high place.
9:15 Now the day before Saul came, the LORD had revealed this to Samuel:
9:16 About this time tomorrow I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin. Anoint him leader over my people Israel; he will deliver my people from the hand of the Philistines. I have looked on my people, for their cry has reached me.
9:17 When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the LORD said to him, This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.
9:18 Saul approached Samuel in the gateway and asked, Would you please tell me where the seer's house is?
9:19 I am the seer, Samuel replied. Go up ahead of me to the high place, for today you are to eat with me, and in the morning I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart.
9:20 As for those donkeys you lost three days ago, do not worry about them; they have been found. And to whom is all the desire of Israel turned, if not to you and all your father's family?
9:21 Saul answered, But am I not a Benjamite, from the smallest tribe of Israel, and is not my clan the least considerable of all the clans of the tribe of Benjamin? Why do you say such a thing to me?
9:22 Then Samuel brought Saul and his servant into the hall and seated them at the head of those who were invited--about thirty in number.
9:23 Samuel said to the cook, Bring the piece of meat I gave you, the one I told you to set aside.
9:24 So the cook took up the thigh with what was on it and set it before Saul. Samuel said, Here is what has been kept for you. Eat, because it was set aside for you for this occasion, from the time I said, 'I have invited guests.' And Saul ate with Samuel that day.
9:25 When they came down from the high place to the town, Samuel talked with Saul on the roof of his house.
9:26 They rose about daybreak, and Samuel called to Saul on the roof, Get ready, and I will send you on your way. When Saul got ready, he and Samuel went outside together.
9:27 As they were going down to the edge of the town, Samuel said to Saul, Tell the servant to go on ahead of us--and the servant did so-- But you stay here awhile, so that I may give you a message from God.
