Introduction

Good morning. Let us continue with The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. The theme of this whole series is on how to read books, or more broadly, how to learn. Over this period, I have observed that not many people know how to learn; superficiality and hearsay are quite common. There is a very apt proverb: Reeds on the wall, heavy at the top, shallow at the root; bamboo shoots in the mountains, sharp of tongue, thick of skin, empty of belly. Why do people become like this? Because they pursue the flashy but insubstantial, the brittle but not strong. No matter what they say or do, it is always a long list of A, B, C, D. Their writings are full of grand pronouncements, devoid of any pragmatic spirit, only seeking to sensationalize. This is self-righteousness, thinking oneself the greatest under heaven.

If we do not know how to read, how to learn to read, we will become reeds on the wall, heavy at the top, shallow at the root; bamboo shoots in the mountains, sharp of tongue, thick of skin, empty of belly, speaking with grand pronouncements. In fact, for some time, we have been striving to deal with these bad habits. Dealing with these bad habits is not easy because our opponent is the dark power that governs this, the spiritual demons in the air. This is very formidable.

In the past, we often fought the Old Horse (Lao Ma), arranging seventy-two-hour prayer meetings to strike at it. Later, we discovered that people's lack of understanding is a serious matter. Lack of understanding is ignorance, and ignorance is a very serious problem. People's ignorance comes from not learning and not reading. But foolish learning and foolish reading are also useless. A lot of Hebrew and Greek jargon, splitting hairs, but failing to grasp the key points.

This series is teaching everyone how to read. Now, ask yourself, do you know how to read? Do you know how to learn? A very important basic principle of learning is to integrate theory with practice. Without theory, practice is blind. When you have theory and then go into concrete practice, you will see the results. If the results you see are incorrect, you must start from facts and pragmatism. We are not speaking facts to discern good and evil because speaking facts to discern good and evil is not called speaking facts. The theory we speak of is the theory of salvation transmitted by Jesus Christ; we are learning the spiritual power and authority of Jesus Christ, including the practice of establishing good habits.

Some time ago, the Old Horse told me it was very angry. It said, “I get angry when I see you making people knowledgeable and insightful.” I have a basic idea that we can all overcome the Old Horse. Overcoming the Old Horse is not as simple as making it retreat with seventy-two hours of prayer; it mainly manipulates people's understanding. The devil releases a little lie, and as soon as people receive it, they will follow and eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. The battle is over, and you will immediately be defeated. Learning is also like this; if people do not learn, they will be ignorant. If people are ignorant, they will be easily deceived. After being deceived, the devil watches and laughs, and then you hurt yourself, corrupt yourself, constantly doing this kind of thing.

Theory Must Be Integrated with Practice

Over the past period, we have learned how to read. Some people, once they read or learn, feel pain everywhere except in their hair. The main method for learning to read is to grasp the key points and the framework. After grasping the framework, then read with questions in mind. If you learn this method, you will read anything quickly. After reading, begin to integrate theory with practice. If you do not implement what you have read, even if you know it, it is the same as not knowing. Of course, knowing is always better than not knowing.

But if you do not practice what you know, you may not be able to grasp the key points. For example, after learning something, you feel it is good; after listening to a lecture, you also feel it was well delivered. But before a day passes, or even three hours, if you are asked what you have learned, what you have heard, what you have read, you cannot remember it at all. So, no matter what you learn, you must develop the habit of taking notes.

When you pick up a book, it is best to have a pen in hand so you can write and draw. Grasp the concepts and the relationships between concepts, and grasp the key points the author wants to express. We are reading Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and we must develop the good habit of learning to read. In fact, reading releases. As you read, the demons will manifest, and when they manifest, you will feel uncomfortable. At this time, you need to pray and cast the demons out. So, as you read, you are released. I tell everyone good news: You will become smart. When people are smart, making money is a small matter, and people will definitely prosper! Some people find that as soon as they push themselves to learn, the Old Horse cannot hide inside, and it begins to feel uncomfortable. At this time, if you cast it out in the name of Jesus, the demon will leave.

Later, I discovered that many people like to do superficial work, and this will kill people. Doing superficial work in reading is quite common. Doing superficial work harms oneself if one is doing it oneself. It harms others if one is teaching others, and it will spoil people if one is doing pastoral care. This is our greatest enemy: not pursuing reality. For example, there is a person who, when he speaks, holds up his ring finger and little finger in a very elegant posture, looking quite beautiful, and then slides them from here to there – the so-called orchid fingers. As he gestures, he speaks eloquently, waving his hands back and forth, pontificating, making my eyes dizzy. But I found that what he says and the questions he asks are all empty. This is harmful, pretending to understand when one does not, playing at superficiality.

When he chats with people who do not understand, he can talk about anything that flies in the sky, walks on the ground, or swims in the sea, expounding at length, like a great man. But when he encounters someone knowledgeable, one question and he deflates immediately. Why? Because he does all superficial work, and this kills people. Superficial work involves not seeking thorough understanding and not pursuing actual results. If you do not seek thorough understanding when reading, although you read, you understand nothing. If you know how to read, from your teens to your twenties, from your twenties to your thirties, from your thirties to your forties, and from your forties to your fifties, you will be formidable.

Some people say they will live to be one hundred and twenty years old. If I can live that long, I will have one hundred years of work experience. Starting work in your twenties and working for one hundred years, you can learn a great deal. If we all work pragmatically, fighting demons will become very easy. Someone asked if I was talking about a male or female earlier. Whether male or female, if they all act like that, it is very annoying to watch!

One sister is learning to do manual work with me and has made great progress recently. At her workplace, she climbs up a ladder, picks up a power drill, and starts drilling. Very impressive! One day, her workplace needed to install something, and a man gestured with orchid fingers, saying he was afraid. Does that not annoy you? What I mean is that, whether male or female, pretentious behavior is annoying to watch. We must not be ignorant. Whether doing manual work or reading, we must develop a good habit of integrating theory with practice.

Integrating theory with practice does not belong to any one person or any one tribe; it should be the case for each of us. If what you learn sounds good, you should implement it well. We have already learned three of the seven good habits. Should we now implement them properly? When you implement them, you will find that it is difficult to establish good habits. If learning and reading are not effective, you must understand this in your heart. If you do not understand and continue to do it, it will be very troublesome.

If reading is not effective, we must adjust. If doing things is not effective, we must adjust. Then you are not in a self-righteous state. In a self-righteous state, you seem busy every day, but you are not doing anything. This is quite common. People always say they have no time, and then you ask them what they have done in the past six months, and they cannot say anything! What are they busy with every day? Anyway, their time is filled. I wonder, what have they filled it with? It turns out they go to the shower and concentrate with all their heart, mind, and being on scrubbing themselves! Is this not troublesome? Going to the toilet to defecate is human nature. Eating, drinking, defecating, and sleeping are nothing shameful. But if you go to the toilet and squat there for half an hour, doing nothing, using all your heart, mind, and being on defecation, is this not a waste of time?

If you write down what you did each day, you will find that you are indeed very busy. The problem is that you do not use your brain when you shower, so you can think about serious things while showering, digesting what you have learned. Now toilets are all sitting toilets. When you sit there, you can think about other things in your head, and you do not need to put all your thoughts and intentions into the toilet. Some people say they drive all day, but does driving require you to use all your heart, mind, and being? Of course, you should watch the road carefully, control the brakes and accelerator with your feet, and hold the steering wheel well, but your ears can listen to other things. In other words, a person's time in a day can be multiplied.

It takes two hours to commute to work by subway. What do you do during these two hours? Some people swipe Douyin and play games. Can this time be used to learn something or read a book? Do not be reeds on the wall, heavy at the top, shallow at the root, unable to answer anything when asked. Some people major in Chinese. I asked them if they have read Chinese literary history. They said they have not, only foreign literary history. I said, Are you not majoring in Chinese? Why are you reading foreign literary history? These things are annoying to hear. Recently, we made an app called Cyclone. The purpose is to make good use of everyone's fragmented time.

What I am saying puts learning and reading together. People who have no time must learn to make good use of their time. There are many similar examples. There was a person who had hemorrhoid surgery. Hemorrhoid surgery is very painful. The doctor said he could not defecate. They cut an opening, and he still had to defecate. That is really painful! Whenever he was in pain, I would lead him in prayer, but after a few days, there was no progress. He was in pain in his butt, and I was exhausted all over. I thought, this person is putting all his heart, mind, and being on that incision from the hemorrhoid surgery. How could he not be in pain? Later, I thought of a solution: have him lead the people he pastors in prayer. He said he had surgery. I said your surgery is on your butt, but leading people in prayer is with your mouth. Later, after he led others in prayer, his butt stopped hurting. This is a very miraculous thing, and I finally freed myself.

What I mean is: people must improve their efficiency! Are you a highly effective person? Are you an efficient person? Review what you have done in the past six months. What problems have you solved? Where have you grown? If you are a very inefficient person, dawdling when you work and dawdling when you read, then let us first focus on reading, first on learning, and first on improving efficiency. For example, cleaning the toilet. Some people need an hour, some people need half an hour, some people need only fifteen minutes, and some people can get it done in five minutes. Later, I discovered that those who finished in five minutes cleaned even more cleanly than those who finished in an hour because they were more efficient.

Once, I went to inspect their work, and the walls of the toilet were covered with reddish mold. I asked him why he did not wipe it clean. He said he did not see it. He had been dawdling in the toilet for an hour, but he had done nothing. I never expected his work efficiency to be so low. He was probably wiping while thinking about other things. If he was thinking about coffee with wine in the toilet, then he must not drink that coffee. So people must constantly improve their efficiency. If you read a book quickly, can grasp the key points, can grasp the details, and can integrate theory with practice, you will enjoy it. In contrast, reading slowly is a very bad habit. Some people think reading slowly is very good, feeling they are reading carefully, but reading a book carefully is not very useful.

I have said so much. Now it is your turn to ask me questions.

Q1: If I have problems with my relatives at home and I do not know how to solve them, can I ask the pastor?

Of course, you can ask. You can treat asking questions as a learning opportunity, trying to solve his problem. Of course, it is best to solve your problem first because once you solve your problem, you can solve many problems. In any case, you must learn and grow. Once you learn and grow, you can first solve your problem and then solve other people's problems.

Q2: I made a plan, but I can never complete it...

Actually, this is a good question. If you cannot complete the plan after making it, it means it is a bad plan. If people do not know how to make a plan, and they write a year's plan as a week's plan, it will be troublesome. If you write a year's plan and expect to complete it in a week, you will never be able to complete it no matter what. So, those who worry that their plans will not be completed have not planned well.

A good plan must be implementable. Why is a good plan implementable? For example, I want to find a job, and I write in the plan: I want to find a job. But how can this plan be implemented? It definitely cannot be implemented because when you are looking for a job, the job you like may not like you. So, once you write a plan that cannot be implemented, it means the plan is not well written.

For example, if you plan to find a job, you need to classify the jobs first. When looking for a job, you first need to write a resume. What is the purpose of writing a resume? The goal of writing a resume is not to find a job, but to get an interview opportunity. As long as you can get an interview opportunity, it is a good resume. After getting an interview opportunity, you need to solve how to interview. What problem is the interview trying to solve? The goal of the first interview is to get a second interview, the goal of the second interview is to get a probationary period, and the goal of the probationary period is to get a permanent position. So, after I explain the plan for finding a job clearly, everyone will understand how to implement it. People who know how to plan can implement their plans, and people who do not know how to plan cannot implement them. Writing a plan is also empty.

Q3: How to improve my professional skills? Should I list what I should learn every day?

This is a good question. Profession is called career planning. We people have to plan throughout our lives. What to learn and what not to learn is very important. If you learn a lot of useless things and do not learn the useful things, you are just messing around. So, it is not about improving our profession because your profession is only one part of it. It is about setting your goals, what you want to do in the future.

Everyone must know a very important concept. In our lives, if you observe carefully, you will find that those successful people are people with character. They are not necessarily people with very strong professional skills, but their professional skills are not bad either. If we learn our profession well, but we are unemployed immediately after graduation, it is also very hard. Although the profession is done very well, it is also very helpless if you cannot do anything. So, you have to do the right career planning. If you cannot support yourself after graduation, what you have done is useless.

Q4: Teacher, I study classical music, but I really like jazz, but what if it is difficult to find a job in jazz in the future?

It does not matter if you like it. The problem now is that it does not matter how well I do what I like because there is no market. So, people are very contradictory in their lives. Never follow your own preferences because if you follow your own preferences, you will walk into a dead end. You have to follow whether you can make a living. This is called career planning. If I like this thing, but I cannot make a living after learning it, what is the use of learning this thing? So, I am a more practical person. I do not follow my own preferences; I follow whether I can make a living. This is very important. Many people follow their own preferences, but they end up in a dead end and live extremely painfully. Then they continue to like it, continue to do it, continue to feel uncomfortable, again and again.

Why do career planning? Career planning is not about planning what you like. Career planning is about understanding what you can do and how you can support yourself. So, improving your profession is not the problem; improving your employment is the problem. What I said may give you a bucket of cold water. You may really like this career, and it is also your interest, but interest is useless. You may feel that how can you do something that you do not like to do?

But there are many things you do not like to do. You can turn what you do not like to do into what you like to do. We people have to become smart. If people do not become smart, they will have a hard time living. Living is indeed very vain and very simple. Although people live and die in their lives, we still have to live more comfortably, live more happily, and live more joyfully. If you live very tangled, what are you doing? But many people are walking down the road of entanglement.

Remember, following your own preferences, no one can walk out a decent path. So people say, follow your interests. That is a lie. Some children like to play computer games. It will be troublesome if you follow their interests. Do not follow your own interests; follow the rewards. Do less or no work with no rewards, and do well with rewards. I do not do things I like with no rewards because there are no rewards.

I really like playing games and playing cards, but playing them every day has no rewards. I think everyone will try to implement it this week. When you try to implement it, you will definitely encounter problems. If you are a grandma, maternal grandma, paternal grandma, grandpa, or maternal grandpa, you can take care of your grandchildren after learning. If your grandchildren are three, five, ten, or eight years old and start to understand these things, then their lives will be much better than mine. Where could I find such a good thing when I was a child? So, collect the problems when you plan to implement them.

Q5: Teacher, is it necessary to practice writing plans every day?

Actually, the plan is best for a week because a day passes very quickly. If you ask me what I did when I was young, when I was young, I would go to the office every morning and write down what I wanted to do in a notebook. I would arrange some things for today and some things for tomorrow. This is planning. Of course, I will continue to talk about planning. Although I have talked about planning many times, I can actually talk about more, and then I will answer more questions about planning.

Q6: How to improve the efficiency of doing everything?

This is a good question. How to improve the efficiency of doing everything? This question is not what ordinary people can ask because ordinary people do not ask this question, and ordinary people think they are very good. They think they spend an hour cleaning the toilet because they are being thorough. If you are being thorough, why did you not wipe the mold off the walls? Improving the efficiency of doing everything is my habit. Take cleaning the toilet, for example: I recently went to a company and visited the owner of the company. This company is very interesting. From the newly hired, smallest employee to the general manager, the first thing they do when they enter the company is to clean the toilet.

Cleaning the toilet quickly is not enough; it has to be both fast and good. If you have been cleaning the toilet for half a year and you still cannot clean it well, I think you should not be the general manager. Everyone in this company, from top to bottom, will be assigned to clean the toilet. Sometimes, the boss will directly roll up his sleeves and demonstrate. Later, after I went there, I found that the toilets in their factory were as clean as the toilets in five-star hotels. What does cleaning the toilet have to do with being a general manager? The relationship is quite big. If you cannot even clean the toilet well, can you be a good general manager? Many people who cannot clean the toilet well are still general managers.

Washing the toilet is a very humble, very low-level task, but it represents the most important thing in our lives. You're in trouble if you don't use the toilet. If you clean the toilet well, and it's cleaner after you use it than before, how can such a company not be good? Everyone washes the toilet after using it, and it's cleaner than before they used it. Later, I studied toilet washing in depth. To improve efficiency, you can listen to how I improve efficiency.

I don't go to wash the toilet spick and span. If I went to wash the toilet spick and span, my clothes would get dirty after washing, which would be really annoying. How do I do it? Every time I'm going to take a shower, I clean the bathroom by the way. When I wash the bathroom, I install the faucet and sprinkler in the bathroom, then wipe, wash, and spray. Done! I use the time of showering to wash, no need to wash with clothes on, it's easy to get clothes dirty when washing with clothes on. Before showering, wash the toilet, rinse it slightly after washing, then put on clothes and come out.

How long does it take to do this? Usually less than a minute. The toilet is such a small place, it can be done in one minute. If this is the first time I use this toilet, it will probably take five minutes. I don't want to wipe it so clean at once. Next time I use it, it will take three minutes, and the next time it will take one minute. Why? Because I've made it quite clean. You don't seem to believe that you can wipe the toilet in one minute, it's okay! I just can't give you a demonstration because I can't let you in to see.

Let me give you another example. Once I bought a white car. After two months, the car had some dirt on it that couldn't be wiped off. I thought the car paint was too bad, so I went to the car dealer and told him that the car paint was too bad. As a result, he said: This is not a problem with the car paint, it's dirt. I said: Since it's dirt, why can't I wipe it off? As a result, he found a worker from Bangladesh. This worker was holding a small iron box with a small hole punched in it. Then he took a rag and poured out something like milk, wiped the dirty area of my car, and the car became bright. I said this car paint is good paint.

Then he asked me: Do you want to wipe the whole car? I asked, how much? Eighty Singapore dollars. Eighty Singapore dollars to wipe a car, am I crazy! I was thinking, if I found this stuff, wouldn't it be wiped in ten minutes? I asked him: What is this? He said: This is wax. How can wax wipe things off, that's all bullshit. I went everywhere to find this milky stuff. Later I found it, it was actually the cheapest one-dollar-fifty-a-bottle cleaner in the store, called CIF. After buying a bottle and going home, I wiped the car in ten minutes, saving eighty Singapore dollars in ten minutes.

I sit in the office all day and don't exercise. People go to the gym to sweat. I wipe the car after work to sweat, and it feels good. People lift dumbbells, I lift cars, although I didn't lift them up. Doesn't this show efficiency? How to improve the efficiency of doing everything? You have to find magical tools, tools, and then find the correct way to use the tools, and the efficiency will double. So there are two levels to improving the efficiency of doing everything: one is that the tools must be good; the other is that the skills must be good. Find the right tools, and then use the tools correctly, and your efficiency will increase tenfold.

There is a business owner who wrote a book called Ten Times Speed. What is ten times speed? It is ten times the speed. Every time you jump up a step, it is ten times the previous efficiency. Effective tools, either invented by you, or found by yourself, you must have the skill to use this tool. Tools and methods often accompany us throughout our lives, so we must often look for breakthroughs. If you find a breakthrough, the efficiency will increase tenfold.

You say: Is there really ten times? If there is no ten times, there must be five times. If there is no five times, there must be two times, right? The work you used to do in one hour, now you can do in half an hour. The work you used to do in half an hour, now you can do in ten minutes. Or the work you used to do in one hour, today you can do in five minutes. Then can you not have time? You definitely have time. The worst thing is that people are self-righteous, thinking that everyone has to work for an hour. There is no such thing, so develop good habits. Some people don't look for tools, and don't improve their skills and knowledge, so they live in a very stuffy, slow, tiring, and self-righteous state for the rest of their lives.

For example: farmers plowing the land, human plowing is no match for cattle plowing, cattle plowing is no match for tractors, and tractors are no match for modern equipment. Because the efficiency of modern equipment is increasing exponentially. Once I saw the most advanced agricultural tool machine. The large rake for plowing the land was as wide as a road. When the tractor carried it, a large area passed by, and the efficiency was a hundred times greater. So listen to my advice, you don't have time because you work slowly. If you read slowly, work slowly, and do everything slowly, then you are in trouble.

You have heard what I said before, you must think about it carefully. Separate learning and work, it's not that I only learn when I do this thing, I usually develop the habit of learning. When I do it, I have basically mastered the skills to do this thing. Separate planning and implementation, if you don't have a plan, you can only do it wrong and then redo it. You may not be able to align it even if you draw a line, how can you do it if you don't draw a line? So often accumulate like me, often practice like this, and you will have time. If you have time, you will learn more, if you learn more, you will have knowledge, if you have knowledge, you will have experience, if you have experience, you will have more skills. Virtuous cycle, see, haven't you learned a lot?

Q7: How to separate learning and work?

Let me give you an example, I want to use plaster powder to smooth the wall, because it is a pockmarked wall, with pits and bumps everywhere. I won't start by directly plastering the wall, what if I don't plaster it well? If I plaster a pockmarked wall, then I have to repair it repeatedly, and in the end the wall will be ruined. Can we first find a broken board next to it, and try to plaster it on the broken board first? If it's plastered badly, just throw it away. If one plaster doesn't work, try plastering a few more. Start learning from a small area, don't practice directly on other people's walls, and after you're done practicing, you can't scrape it off, and you have to compensate others. This is work, not playing, not just passing by.

So how can you do it if you don't separate? You can learn in the laboratory, but if you learn at the construction site, will people allow you to mess around like this? Then you are in trouble. After messing around, you have to dismantle it, and after dismantling, you have to throw it away. You have to know that it costs money to throw away construction waste. How much money do you have to compensate? Besides, you haven't made any money yet. So about learning this thing, we have to start learning in the laboratory, and slowly try it in a small area. When working, it is real swords and guns, everything is real! If you ruin other people's good materials, don't you have to pay for it? Don't mix learning and work together, and don't expect to use other people's things to practice. After you're done, you have to compensate them.

Q8: How to judge urgent but unimportant things in life?

In life, urgent but unimportant things almost fill our entire lives. Why are people busy? It is because they are filled with many urgent but unimportant things. For example, if a plane is about to crash, do you think it's urgent? It's urgent, because people have to be rescued. If a building collapses, do you think it's urgent? It's urgent, this matter is also very urgent. But the collapse of a building is not an important thing, because no one plans to collapse the building, unless it is demolishing an unfinished building. The collapse of a building is an urgent matter, but not an important matter. The important thing is to prevent the building from collapsing before the building collapses. Before the plane crashes, or before it takes off, fix the plane, that matter is very important, but not urgent.

Many people like to mess around, always urgent, always urgent! When they are urgent, problems arise. For example, I must launch a rocket, and then 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, I press the Button, and three minutes later, it's a firework! Why do you always set off fireworks? Can you do your job well? What if there are people on it? If people are killed, you have to comfort the family members, then things will be troublesome. Some things in our lives are urgent. Do urgent things need to be dealt with? They need to be dealt with. But how important are they? We always think they are very important. In fact, I think it is more important to avoid these urgent things.

Over the past few years, I have always been promoted. My position was raised all at once. After being promoted, I found that I couldn't do this job. When I first got to that position, I was really sitting on pins and needles. Every day there were urgent things that I had to deal with. If I dealt with these things every day, I would be busy for several years. That wouldn't work. I couldn't agree to this situation. How to solve this situation? I dissected the things I was dealing with, sorted them into categories. I don't know how to do this kind of thing yet, and I'm not doing that kind of thing fast enough, and then I had a learning plan. No matter how urgent it is, as long as no one dies, I will take two hours every day to learn how to do this job. If you don't know how to do it, you have to learn! And then as I learned, the efficiency improved.

I tell you, improving efficiency is a very important part of life. After improving efficiency, the work that used to take three hours to complete can now be completed in an hour and a half, and you won't be busy. Urgent things are usually unimportant. Why is a person's life filled with urgent things? Because important things have not been done. Important things can allow us to avoid many urgent situations. Today is urgent, tomorrow is urgent, what to do? Then I have to set aside time every day to learn how to deal with these things, so that I can become more efficient. Once I find the root cause behind this kind of problem, and eradicate this root cause, this pile of problems will no longer come out, and I will save a lot of time.

I basically use six months to two years, and the longest is about three years, and I basically reverse this busy situation of mine. After getting rid of this busy situation, I started from the basic business processes, dealt with problems at all levels, and after dealing with them all, I became less busy. After I was not busy, I started learning, what did I learn? After learning for six months, I may encounter urgent situations, and then do research and research. Things are moving forward. Six months later, I will encounter new problems. Because I have spent a lot of time doing research and research before, when that thing really happens six months later, I am already prepared, this is called proactive management.

If I can see the problems I will encounter a year later, and I need this skill a year later, I will start preparing now. If I can still see what skills I will need three years later, and prepare for things three years later in advance, then I will be great. Our country has a five-year plan, two five-year plans, and intelligent manufacturing, which are all preparing for future plans. Everything is done this way, and things are gradually managed.

Managing this matter is about managing people and managing things. If you can manage things, things can be handled well in your hands. Our country has come to where it is today and has solved many problems. In the past seventy years, the gross national product has increased by more than seven hundred times. It is difficult for us to imagine how it was done. Today everyone is a beneficiary, and their living conditions and conditions have changed greatly. These are all prepared with a lot of effort and effort, the things are completely solved, and they are constantly improved.

Q9: When you first arrive in a new field, it is often difficult to estimate the time to complete things. How to make a daily plan?

Actually, your daily plan is useless, because you don't know how to do it. If you don't know how to do it, you don't know what surprises will pop up. Today a surprise pops up, tomorrow another surprise pops up, and the day after tomorrow another Li Yuanba pops up, you will have even more difficulty knowing how to do things. What is the problem? We can't plan the work we don't know how to do. If we don't know how to do the work, and we still have to plan it, then we are just messing around. We are just planning a superficial thing, which is useless. When we make a work plan, we need to know what things we can do, what things we can't do, what things we know, and what things we don't know. If we know the things we don't know, and we can do the things we can't do, then we can do it slowly.

Explore to understand, and then plan. Planning is not just writing a plan, but to understand what things you can do, what things you can't do, what things you need to learn, and what things you need to know. After understanding clearly what needs to be done, you can do things at once. If you do it and then dismantle it, and then dismantle it and do it again, you are in trouble. Some bosses don't know this, and only let people work hard, work hard! Faster, faster!

For example, the boss said: It must be launched on October 19th. You reply: It can't be launched if you are not prepared, but the boss insists on launching, you can only do it according to the boss's requirements. As a result, once it is launched, a bunch of problems explode. The boss asks again: Why are there so many problems? You can only say: That's how things are. In fact, the boss needs to know that it is no problem if you want to launch on October 19th, and it is no problem if you want to launch on October 17th, but if you do it without being prepared, it will bring a pile of trouble. So develop a habit of making plans, so that you can manage people and things better in the future. These problems are all good, they are all problems encountered in the process of implementation.

Q10: There are always very urgent things that lead to no time to do other things. How to manage these things?

In fact, there should be no urgency in a person's life. Why is there always urgency? Because important things have not been done. If there are urgent things everywhere in life, it is because many important things have not been done well in the past. We can make a choice, either deal with urgent things every day, or the situation will be changed after half a year. Of course, it would be better if it can be changed after half a year, because you can't follow the things all day long. Being led by the nose by things is very passive. For me, it's another story whether you lead me or I lead you. When encountering many urgent things, I distinguish them. Put aside things that won't kill people, and deal with things that will kill people quickly. If people still die after doing it, it's because you don't know how to do it. If you don't know how to do it, it's useless to be anxious. Learn to think of ways to deal with the current situation.

How can there be so many urgent things in the world? I don't believe it. The company still operates without you in the world, and there's nothing wrong. In fact, things are determined by people themselves. It's people who determine whether it will be launched on October 19th or May 19th. Don't make yourself nervous and rough. If you can handle it, handle it. If you can't handle it, that's it. You won't die. Even if you are not there, the earth will still turn. Some people say: There's a power outage, it's over! Later, it was discovered that everyone survived after three days of power outage.

You will find that you can survive anything that is stopped. Isn't that how you survived the war? Syria and Iraq all survived like this. Don't think that this thing won't work, in fact everything is possible. Urgent but unimportant things, it's not that we can be urgent if we say we are urgent, and we can be not urgent if we say we are not urgent. If you have to go to the toilet or something will happen, then go to the toilet quickly, this matter is very urgent.

From now on, everyone actively manages people and things. If you manage well, you will definitely have time to read and learn, and you will definitely be a highly effective person. You don't need to increase your efficiency by ten times, increasing your efficiency by two times will greatly increase your effectiveness. The work that takes ten hours can be completed in five hours, and the remaining time can be used to rest. In my estimation, the efficiency of the average person is probably only below 10%. It is very good if the effective things you do can reach 10%. Some people are actually negative 10%. Why are some people negative? Because they are not helping, they are hindering, they are the so-called pig teammates. When kicking the ball, they kick the ball into their own goal. Are you a spy or an undercover agent? It's very annoying! Don't be busy blindly, get out of the scene of blindly busy, because blindly busy has no effect.

Now start to sort out all the things that have no effect and the things that have effect, get rid of the things that have no effect, and you will become a highly effective person. I must warn everyone that over the past many years I have investigated one thing, malignant diseases are specifically looking for people who are not very efficient. Today they are busy with this, tomorrow they are busy with that, and the things they do have no effect. Over time, they will get sick. Their lives have no satisfaction, their lives have no creativity, their lives have no improvement, their lives are filled with trivial things, and they are prone to cancer. If you are a highly effective person, you will enjoy work in your life, you will enjoy learning, you will have a sense of feeling and reward when doing things, and Alzheimer's disease and various diseases will not find you. Whether you believe in the Lord or not, that's another matter.

Li Ka-shing is still managing things in his nineties, and he is managing them quite well. Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew was a very effective person and lived to be in his nineties. Our country's leader Deng Xiaoping was also a very efficient person and lived to be in his nineties. You see those people who get cancer in their forties and fifties, they are all people who live blindly. Study hard every day and make progress every day, and you will become a highly effective person. As soon as I said this, Old Ma was so angry. Old Ma is very corrupting people, making people busy blindly and doing things that have no effect.

What I said is a little scattered. If you didn't grasp the theme, it doesn't matter, you can still grasp the themes in segments. Efficiency is the keyword I am talking about. Some people also asked about urgent and important questions. These concepts must be established. Urgency is not a good thing. I am never urgent. Many times people call me. If it is a call from the people I shepherd, I will definitely answer it. If I say I am a little busy recently, it means that your matter is not important, and I have many important things to do. I say this because it is easy to hurt people if I say it directly.

In one's life, one often does important things, constantly improves one's efficiency and effectiveness, constantly changes oneself, constantly makes oneself a more valuable person, and constantly creates greater value. At first it is a little innovation, and later it constantly becomes a creative person. There must be originality in doing things. If you create an Alibaba, you will become Jack Ma; if you create Tencent, you will become Pony Ma; or you create a small company and become someone. So don't be led by the nose by things, some things can really be put down. This time, the Q&A session ends here, may God bless everyone!

"There are many things you don't like to do, you can turn the things you don't like to do into things you like to do." Pastor Liu, I would like to share my own personal experience. For some people, they have a goal, but their hobbies and talents do not match this goal. When you force this person to complete it only with a goal-oriented approach, they do not have the ability to achieve it in their heart. So the key to solving the problem is to guide the other person to find a goal that matches their hobbies and talents, rather than forcibly being goal-oriented. This is how the person will feel truly satisfied and accomplished.
