【Bible Study】Genesis Chapter 24 - God Prepares a Smooth Path for Those with Mingding Destiny!

2023-02-15 93,496 Genesis Genesis 24 Genesis Chapter 24 Receiving Destiny Guided by God Covenanting with God Seeing Through Life

Introduction

Greetings, everyone. Let us delve into Genesis, Chapter 24. The Bible possesses a remarkable quality: it chronicles the lives of individuals with Mingding Destiny, those who understand their purpose in life and death, and recognise the necessity of Mingding Destiny in this world. The origins of Chinese Mingding Destiny are inextricably linked to the Book of Genesis. Within the Bible, we encounter numerous individuals, such as Rebekah, Tamar, Rahab, and Ruth, all women of Mingding Destiny. Those with Mingding Destiny are extraordinary, capable of moving God's hand to perform wondrous deeds, and God bestows upon them a smooth path. The theme of this chapter is "God Prepares a Smooth Path for Those with Mingding Destiny." Why this title? Let us begin by reading the concluding verses of this chapter.

And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, “Our sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the gates of their enemies.” (Genesis 24:60)

This verse stems from God's words to Abraham after the offering of Isaac in the previous chapter.

“I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.” (Genesis 22:16-18)

Rebekah is a Woman of Mingding Destiny

Many cite the story of Isaac's marriage, but they often overlook the fact that Rebekah was a woman of Mingding Destiny. The purpose of marriage for those with Mingding Destiny differs from that of those without. Those without Mingding Destiny seek to fulfil human physiological needs, whereas Rebekah sought marriage for the sake of Mingding Destiny. The Bible records numerous women of Mingding Destiny, and Rebekah is one of them. While at home, she had heard of Abraham's son and his willingness to offer Isaac to God. She also learned of God's promise to Abraham that his descendants would possess the gates of their enemies. Rebekah, a remarkable young woman, upon hearing these things, constantly pondered at home that her descendants would possess the gates of their enemies, that she would be the mother of thousands, and that she would marry Isaac. Her family likely dismissed it as a pipe dream. Her brother Laban may have even mocked her, pointing out the distance and her lack of knowledge of the man, deeming the prospect a fantasy. Thus, this matter is truly miraculous.

Rebekah's thoughts stemmed from her nurse Deborah, a woman of great Mingding Destiny. Deborah, though past the age of marriage and unable to marry a man of Mingding Destiny herself, placed her hopes on Rebekah, whom she considered her own daughter, and instilled in her the concept of Mingding Destiny. How do we know this? Later, when Jacob returned from his uncle Laban's, Deborah died, and Jacob buried her, mourning for her.

Then Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse, died and was buried under the oak south of Bethel; so it was named Allon Bakuth. (Genesis 35:8)

Without Deborah, there would be no Rebekah, and without Rebekah, there would be no Esau and Jacob. Rebekah's unwavering determination to marry Isaac moved God's hand to perform a miracle. One day, Abraham instructed his servant to return to his homeland and kindred to find a wife for Isaac. We may not fully understand why he did so. What we can understand is that someone in that place constantly yearned for Mingding Destiny, prompting Abraham to have a sudden inspiration to send his servant to bring her back.

It is evident that the entire story of Abraham's servant traveling to Rebekah's location is remarkably well-written. Many women aspire to marry such a husband, but they lack Mingding Destiny and focus solely on marrying a wealthy man. If you constantly yearn to marry a wealthy man, you may indeed achieve your desire. However, the Bible is not about marrying a husband or wife. Some testify to successful online dating experiences and happy marriages, but that is about finding a partner. We are discussing Rebekah, a woman of Mingding Destiny.

But her brother and her mother replied, “Let the young woman remain with us ten days or so; then she may go.” But he said to them, “Do not detain me, now that the Lord has granted success to my journey. Send me on my way so I may return to my master.” Then they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?” “I will go,” she said. So they sent Rebekah their sister and her nurse along with Abraham’s servant and his attendants. (Genesis 24:55-59)

Rebekah left with the servant that very day, unwilling to wait any longer. Rebekah had longed for this day for many years, and God granted her a smooth path, ensuring that Abraham's servant arrived at the well near her home and encountered her as she went out to draw water.

“I asked her, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ “She said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him.’ “Then I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her arms, and I bowed down and worshiped the Lord. I praised the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me on the right road to get the granddaughter of my master’s brother for his son. (Genesis 24:47-48)

Not only did the old servant encounter Rebekah, but he also placed bracelets on her. Furthermore, the old servant's prayer coincided precisely with Rebekah's desires. This event has influenced generations because Rebekah possessed Mingding Destiny. If you ask me how I can tell that Rebekah had Mingding Destiny, it is because she taught her two sons, Esau and Jacob, to have Mingding Destiny from a young age, but only Jacob heeded her words. Consequently, she particularly favored Jacob. Mingding Destiny is also hereditary, and it was passed on to Jacob.

Rebekah is truly a remarkable woman, worthy of our study and contemplation. For those with Mingding Destiny, God will prepare a smooth path. Rebekah yearned to marry Isaac, and God fulfilled her desire. She wanted to marry Isaac not because he was wealthy but because he carried God's covenant. This event later influenced Tamar, another extraordinary woman.

God Prepares a Smooth Path for Rebekah

Abraham said to the senior servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh. I want you to swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of earth, that you will not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I am living, but will go to my country and my own relatives and get a wife for my son Isaac.” (Genesis 24:2-4)

Some believe that marrying a Canaanite woman was undesirable, but that is not the case. If a woman of Mingding Destiny had appeared in Canaan, Isaac might have married her there. Later in the Bible, Ruth, a Moabite woman, is mentioned. God did not particularly care that she was a Moabite, a descendant of Lot. Therefore, brothers and sisters, understand that Mingding Destiny is unrelated to one's origins. Rahab was a woman from Jericho, and like Ruth, she was a foreigner. God inspired Abraham to find a wife for his son in his homeland and kindred, not because of his old home but because Rebekah wholeheartedly desired to marry Isaac.

God prepares a path for those with Mingding Destiny. The first step is to pass Abraham's test. Once that is accomplished, the rest is easier. However, passing Abraham's test is quite challenging. Abraham did not allow his servant to take his son. There were no photographs at the time. Would he simply draw a portrait and tell people that his master had a son named Isaac, asking them to marry their daughter to him? It sounds a bit far-fetched.

The servant asked him, “What if the woman is unwilling to come back here with me? Shall I then take your son back to the country you came from?” (Genesis 24:5)

There was no WeChat or video calls at the time. Expecting a woman to agree to marry him under such circumstances seems highly improbable. However, God is mighty, and Abraham is a man of God. If Abraham took his son back, Isaac, being handsome and wealthy, would be overwhelmed by a crowd of women vying for his attention, making the selection process difficult. Therefore, he could not take him. The one who eagerly awaited and yearned to marry his son, the one with Mingding Destiny who desired to be the mother of thousands and possess the gates of their enemies, that is the wife Isaac should marry.

Abraham thought in this way, preparing the path for those with Mingding Destiny. If he had taken Isaac, he might have married a girl before even reaching his hometown. Because Isaac was a wealthy second-generation and the patriarch of his generation, and Abraham's reputation was great, everyone would want to marry into Abraham's family, creating a problem. Then, Rebekah's hopes and yearnings would be in vain, and she might be intercepted. Therefore, Abraham was wise to instruct his servant not to take his son, all for the sake of Rebekah.

In the past, I have taught that this chapter is about not taking the son back to the old home. Although returning to the old home has its own problems, that is not the main point. The main point is that the entire story is for Rebekah. God prepares a smooth path for this woman of Mingding Destiny. No one should interfere with Rebekah's marriage to Isaac, and no one should attempt to intercept her. This is God's first test for Rebekah, the Abraham test, which other women cannot pass.

Abraham said to him, “Be careful not to take my son back there. The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s household and from my native land and who spoke to me and who swore an oath to me, saying, ‘To your offspring I will give this land’—he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there. If the woman is unwilling to come back with you, then you will be released from this oath of mine. Only do not take my son back there.” So the servant put his hand under the thigh of his master Abraham and swore an oath to him concerning this matter. (Genesis 24:6-9)

Abraham's Servant is Guided by God for Rebekah's Sake

God guides Abraham's servant for the sake of the woman of Mingding Destiny, causing him to move forward without error at any crossroads. He continued until he reached the well where Rebekah drew water. We have always believed that the servant's smooth journey was due to Abraham, but it was not. It was for Rebekah's sake. Without Rebekah, there would be no Jacob. The servant's smooth path was not solely due to Abraham but also for the sake of Rebekah's fulfillment. Although I cannot prove it, sisters should understand that God will surely prepare a smooth path for sisters of Mingding Destiny, enabling them to achieve their desires. That is remarkable. It is because you have Mingding Destiny that God grants you a smooth path, not just today. If you reflect, you will see a trajectory of Mingding Destiny from childhood. If what you desire in your heart is the eternal way prepared by God, then God has been waiting for you there for a long time and has prepared a smooth path for you. If there is no smooth path, it is only because what we desire in our hearts is somewhat too Low.

This marriage of Mingding Destiny has become a theme in our reading of Genesis. In fact, the Bible is about Mingding Destiny, and there is no blessing outside of Mingding Destiny. I encourage everyone to cultivate thoughts and habits of Mingding Destiny. If you have Mingding Destiny within you, you will have a global perspective on human life. A person with Mingding Destiny places great importance on the journey from birth to death and ultimately entering eternal life. If you do not understand life and death, it is difficult to have Mingding Destiny. People either live for the sake of living and then leave this world miserably, gaining nothing. They wander around the world and end up with only loneliness, toil, and sorrow, without a smooth path, only a rough road. I encourage brothers and sisters, especially sisters, to cultivate a habit of Mingding Destiny. Your God will surely guide you, just as God guided Abraham's servant to bring back a wife of Mingding Destiny for Isaac.

Do not cultivate the bad habit of living without Mingding Destiny, living only for the sake of living, which is a wasted life. Reading the Bible without extracting Mingding Destiny, feeling good after reading it, and wanting to find a wife like Rebekah for your son, but then going astray, not only choosing the wrong one but also becoming entangled, resulting in tragedy. The servant arrived at the well, and Rebekah appeared right after his prayer. It turns out that God was directing a story of Mingding Destiny, a play entirely arranged by God. It was all because Rebekah, through the teachings of her nurse Deborah, cultivated a habit of Mingding Destiny, constantly yearning for her descendants to possess the gates of their enemies and for her to become the mother of thousands. This is an exceedingly good habit.

Those with Mingding Destiny Will Surely See the Needs of This Generation

God actually hopes that we can become a blessing to many people, but saying that becoming a blessing to many people is easier said than done. Can we first become a blessing to one person? Becoming a blessing to many people starts from becoming a blessing to one person.

Then he said, “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham. Behold, I stand here by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water. Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.” (Genesis 24:12-14)

It is important for a person to be able to see the needs of others. Rebekah was not just thinking about the old servant quickly drinking the water and leaving, perhaps even disliking the old servant for being dirty, or even worrying that the old servant would waste her time and quickly disappear. She was not like that; she also saw that the camels needed water. In fact, a person who only thinks about himself cannot have Mingding Destiny. A person who only thinks about himself cannot see anything except what is in his own eyes. As a result, he becomes blind or has a built-in filter in his eyes, mistaking a black horse for a white horse, only to find out after marrying that he did not marry the Prince Charming he had in mind. If Rebekah could not even do something as simple as feeding water to the camels, then there would be no talk of any Mingding Destiny. A person with Mingding Destiny is definitely not a selfish person, but will seek to become the mother of thousands, to bless them.

Selfish people will not gain the gate of their enemies; it would be good enough if they are not captured by the enemy. So, it is important to know that those with Mingding Destiny can see the needs of this generation from the smallest things. Today, you must see the needs of this generation in your place. Now, those of you who are among us are blessed; many illnesses are healed with just one prayer. But outside our church, there are still tens of thousands of people who are sick; we must be able to see their needs. We hold healing and deliverance conferences every year, as well as Mingding Destiny theology seminars. The Mingding Destiny theology seminar is to convey the concept that there is no blessing outside of Mingding Destiny, to see how desolate the church of this generation is. The church is full of all kinds of Pharisees; God's will is not being fulfilled, and God's heart may even be bleeding because people are going their own way.

In this generation, we must stand up and become people with Mingding Destiny, seeing the needs of this generation. All who come among us seeking healing and deliverance not only do not pay, but if you offer, we have to tell you that you are not qualified. We may not even accept your offering; we are not expecting you to offer money to receive service. Our dream is to bless this generation, to serve people who walk in from the street. No matter what your situation, we will give you the best service, to bring you out of the curse and make you a blessed person. We want to pass on Mingding Destiny to you, to let you know that God will give a smooth path to those with Mingding Destiny.

So many coincidences in this chapter prove that a person with Mingding Destiny often encounters coincidences, all arranged by God. Rebekah waited and waited, finally for this day. If she missed this opportunity on this day, not planning to give water to the old servant's camels, then all the coincidences would be in vain. So, from a young age, or from the very beginning of believing in the Lord, we must train ourselves to become people with Mingding Destiny, longing to become a blessing to others. Not coming here just to be blessed; that cannot become the mother of thousands, nor can it gain the gate of the enemy; it would be good enough if there is no tragedy.

So it was, when the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden nose ring weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold, and said, “Please tell me, whose daughter are you? Is there room in your father’s house for us to lodge?” So she said, “I am the daughter of Bethuel, Milcah’s son, whom she bore to Nahor.” Moreover she said to him, “We have plenty of room and straw and feed for the camels.” Then the man bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord. And he said, “Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken His mercy and His truth toward my master. As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.” So the young woman ran and told her mother’s household these things. (Genesis 24:22-28)

The old servant did not waste a single bit of time and energy, going straight to the well, and God arranged for Rebekah to appear at that time. In fact, when Rebekah was walking to the well, the old servant was also walking to the well. It was not that the servant arrived at the well and shouted, and Rebekah remembered to take the water bottle to fetch water. The time, place, and people were so precise, it was simply divine! After clarifying the purpose of the old servant's arrival, Rebekah was particularly excited and ran home to tell her family. Rebekah's brother Laban saw the golden nose ring and bracelets on his sister's hands, and heard Rebekah's words, and was even more surprised, rushing directly to the well and bringing the old servant back home.

Laban was simply amazed, that what his sister had been longing for all day could become a reality. She was indeed a blessed person, to become the mother of thousands, and her descendants would gain the gate of their enemies. Whether or not he understood Mingding Destiny, Laban actually did not understand anything, only knowing about money, and not knowing what it meant to say these words. But he knew that this was an extremely good saying, that it would be a victorious life. The old servant then explained the purpose of his trip to Laban and Rebekah's father, and then reluctantly stayed for the night, and in the morning wanted to take Rebekah away.

But her brother and her mother said, “Let the young woman stay with us a few days, at least ten; after that she may go.” And he said to them, “Do not hinder me, since the Lord has prospered my way; send me away so that I may go to my master.” So they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her.” Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.” (Genesis 24:55-58)

Rebekah decided to leave immediately at that time, not taking her mother seriously, nor crying with her mother, saying that she did not know when they would see each other again after this departure. Rebekah directly left her mother aside, for Mingding Destiny, there was no time to waste with them, she had been waiting for this day, not wanting to delay for even a day. Her mother's heart immediately turned cold, truly, a married daughter is like water that has been spilled! In fact, Rebekah was very clear in her heart, that living with her family for so many years was just like this. A person with Mingding Destiny will not be hurt by how her family is, carrying the glory in eternity in her heart, not how it will be in this life. She wanted to obtain the covenant that God and her future husband had made! Her future husband was extraordinary; God made a covenant with him, and her descendants would gain the gate of their enemies.

In fact, Rebekah did not particularly understand, but she just longed for this matter, seeing things clearly. At that time, she left with her nurse Deborah, and Deborah and Rebekah later told this story when they were educating Jacob. Later, it was passed down orally until the time of Moses, and Moses wrote it down in the 24th chapter of Genesis; these were all passed down from the mouths of Rebekah and her nurse. It has been passed down among the people of Israel, how their ancestor Abraham's son Isaac married Rebekah. This story also inspired many women, not only being praised among the Israelites, but also spreading to the area of Canaan. This is why there were later Rahab, Tamar, and Ruth, all of whom liked to be extraordinary women with Mingding Destiny.

Those with Mingding Destiny Will Become a Comfort to Others

And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming. Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from her camel; for she had said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took a veil and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death. (Genesis 24:63-67)

Why did Rebekah bring comfort to Isaac? Because Rebekah was a person with Mingding Destiny. Only by bringing people into Mingding Destiny, into eternal hope, can one comfort people. Remember, if you bring people into trivial matters, there is no way to find comfort. If you associate with me, I will often pour cold water on your worldly hopes until I completely extinguish your hopes. I make you bring your worldly hopes into eternal hopes, which is called having a hope of Mingding Destiny. Then you will find that you feel comfortable in your heart. This is why some people feel enlightened when they talk to me, because only those with Mingding Destiny can bring comfort to people, and our feelings of despair are closely related to worldly hopes.

I often use a phrase to describe some people, which is "rural old women." This is not a nice phrase, describing those who are concerned with trivial matters. I ask you, can such people not be troubled? But if a rural old woman can become an extraordinary woman with Mingding Destiny, beginning to have hope in eternity, she suddenly discovers that those trivial matters are meaningless, and that those things she is concerned with all day are called ignorance, worthless, and very corrupting. And these people are not only ignorant and uneducated, but also talk about those things, and have a big temper, are stubborn, and care about face, often bringing up a bunch of messy things. Do you all understand now?

So, I usually do not bring people into solving worldly trivial matters, but bring you into eternal Mingding Destiny, and you will immediately discover that many things in the world are useless, and that those entanglements are just what some people say is a small pattern. Some people even cry, make trouble, and threaten suicide, and drink pesticide when they have nothing to do. This is because the level is too low to get light, and people live in darkness. There is only one problem to solve: raise the level and become a person with a level. You must have Mingding Destiny to have a level.

So, this is how I serve people later, bringing people into Mingding Destiny, and comforting them. Isaac could not argue with Rebekah and the nurse Deborah. As they talked to Isaac, Isaac felt enlightened. Although Isaac was also a person with Mingding Destiny, he could not get over the death of his mother. Only when Rebekah and Deborah came did he find comfort. How good it is to be a person with Mingding Destiny! If a person marries a woman without Mingding Destiny, who makes trouble all day long, is uneducated, and likes to cause trouble for no reason, then this person's life is truly a tragedy. Brothers and sisters, can you become a comfort to others, no longer crying, making trouble, and threatening suicide, drinking pesticide when you have nothing to do? If you drink pesticide and die, that's it, but if the amount is not enough after drinking, isn't that suffering?

To become a comfort to others, God will surely prepare a smooth path for you, and your life will be full of God's wonderful works. Living a life in the beautiful things that God has directed for us, wonderful things will happen, and beautiful things will be accomplished. This beautiful marriage is a marriage with Mingding Destiny, accomplishing a wonderful story in eternity. Until today, in heaven and on earth, the story of Mingding Destiny is being praised. For Rebekah, this person with Mingding Destiny, God prepared a smooth path for her.

Genesis Chapter 24 Scripture

24:1 Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.
24:2 So Abraham said to the oldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, “Please, put your hand under my thigh,
24:3 and I will make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell;
24:4 but you shall go to my country and to my family, and take a wife for my son Isaac.”
24:5 And the servant said to him, “Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I take your son back to the land from which you came?”
24:6 But Abraham said to him, “Beware that you do not take my son back there.
24:7 The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ‘To your descendants I will give this land,’ He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.
24:8 And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be released from this oath; only do not take my son back there.”
24:9 So the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.
24:10 Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed, for all his master’s goods were in his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.
24:11 And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water.
24:12 Then he said, “O Lord God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
24:13 Behold, I stand here by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.
24:14 Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”
24:15 And it happened, before he had finished speaking, that behold, Rebekah, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came out with her pitcher on her shoulder.
24:16 Now the young woman was very beautiful to behold, a virgin; no man had known her. And she went down to the well, filled her pitcher, and came up.
24:17 And the servant ran to meet her and said, “Please let me drink a little water from your pitcher.”
24:18 So she said, “Drink, my lord.” Then she quickly let her pitcher down to her hand, and gave him a drink.
24:19 And when she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking.”
24:20 Then she quickly emptied her pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels.
24:21 And the man, wondering at her, remained silent so as to know whether the Lord had prospered his journey or not.
24:22 So it was, when the camels had finished drinking, that the man took a golden nose ring weighing half a shekel, and two bracelets for her wrists weighing ten shekels of gold,
24:23 and said, “Please tell me, whose daughter are you? Is there room in your father’s house for us to lodge?”
24:24 So she said, “I am the daughter of Bethuel, Milcah’s son, whom she bore to Nahor.”
24:25 Moreover she said to him, “We have plenty of room and straw and feed for the camels.”
24:26 Then the man bowed down his head and worshiped the Lord.
24:27 And he said, “Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who has not forsaken His mercy and His truth toward my master. As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.”
24:28 So the young woman ran and told her mother’s household these things.
24:29 Now Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban. And Laban ran out to the man by the well.
24:30 So it came to pass, when he saw the nose ring, and the bracelets on his sister’s wrists, and when he heard the words of his sister Rebekah, saying, “Thus the man spoke to me,” that he went to the man. And there he stood by the camels at the well.
24:31 And he said, “Come in, O blessed of the Lord! Why do you stand outside? For I have prepared the house, and a place for the camels.”
24:32 Then the man came to the house. And he unloaded the camels, and provided straw and feed for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men who were with him.
24:33 Food was set before him to eat, but he said, “I will not eat until I have told about my errand.” And he said, “Speak on.”
24:34 So he said, “I am Abraham’s servant.
24:35 The Lord has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great; and He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.
24:36 And Sarah my master’s wife bore a son to my master when she was old; and to him he has given all that he has.
24:37 Now my master made me swear, saying, ‘You shall not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell;
24:38 but you shall go to my father’s house and to my family, and take a wife for my son.’
24:39 And I said to my master, ‘Perhaps the woman will not follow me.’
24:40 But he said to me, ‘The Lord, before whom I walk, will send His angel with you and prosper your way; and you shall take a wife for my son from my family and from my father’s house.
24:41 You will be clear from this oath when you arrive among my family; for if they will not give her to you, then you will be released from my oath.’
24:42 And this day I came to the well and said, ‘O Lord God of my master Abraham, if You will now prosper the way in which I go,
24:43 behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall be that when the virgin comes out to draw water, and I say to her, “Please give me a little water from your pitcher to drink,”
24:44 and she says to me, “Drink, and I will draw for your camels also,” let her be the woman whom the Lord has appointed for my master’s son.’
24:45 But before I had finished speaking in my heart, there was Rebekah, coming out with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well and drew water. And I said to her, ‘Please let me drink.’
24:46 And she made haste and let her pitcher down from her shoulder, and said, ‘Drink, and I will give your camels a drink also.’ So I drank, and she gave the camels a drink also.
24:47 Then I asked her, and said, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ And she said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor’s son, whom Milcah bore to him.’ So I put the nose ring on her nose and the bracelets on her wrists.
24:48 And I bowed my head and worshiped the Lord, and blessed the Lord God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son.
24:49 Now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand or to the left.”
24:50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, “The thing comes from the Lord; we cannot speak to you bad or good.
24:51 Here is Rebekah before you; take her and go, and let her be your master’s son’s wife, as the Lord has spoken.”
24:52 And it came to pass, when Abraham’s servant heard their words, that he worshiped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth.
24:53 Then the servant brought out jewelry of silver, jewelry of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother.
24:54 And he and the men who were with him ate and drank and stayed all night. Then they arose in the morning, and he said, “Send me away to my master.”
24:55 But her brother and her mother said, “Let the young woman stay with us a few days, at least ten; after that she may go.”
24:56 And he said to them, “Do not hinder me, since the Lord has prospered my way; send me away so that I may go to my master.”
24:57 So they said, “We will call the young woman and ask her.”
24:58 Then they called Rebekah and said to her, “Will you go with this man?” And she said, “I will go.”
24:59 So they sent away Rebekah their sister and her nurse, and Abraham’s servant and his men.
24:60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: “Our sister, may you become the mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess the gates of those who hate them.”
24:61 Then Rebekah and her maids arose, and they rode on the camels and followed the man. So the servant took Rebekah and departed.
24:62 Now Isaac came from the way of Beer Lahai Roi, for he dwelt in the South.
24:63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming.
24:64 Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from her camel;
24:65 for she had said to the servant, “Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took a veil and covered herself.
24:66 And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.
24:67 Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

Teacher, what should we do if we see brothers and sisters in the church in disharmony and conflict in their service? Does the Beatitudes in the Bible tell us to be peacemakers, and is it reflected at this time?
That's a good question! But don't forget that the Bible uses spiritual words to explain spiritual things. If people leave the spiritual realm and explain it from a worldly perspective, they will only become more and more confused. Disharmony among people is a spiritual matter. If we bring people into Mingding Doctrine, they will naturally be in harmony. The root cause of disharmony in the church is that people are carnal.
