Introduction
Good morning, everyone. This week, we will be discussing "Possessing the Gates of the Enemy." If you recall, the phrase "possessing the gates of the enemy" comes from God's words during Abraham's offering of Isaac. This was the pinnacle of God's promise at that time. The first point is to offer the most precious thing to God. The second point is, "May you become the mother of millions." When Rebekah heard about Isaac offering himself, she thought, "No matter what, I must marry such a man."
If you can marry a husband who particularly loves God, that is your blessing. If you marry a very selfish husband who only knows how to love himself, his saying that he loves you is nothing but a deception. Therefore, I want our brothers and sisters to understand what it means to possess the gates of the enemy. Abraham offered Isaac, and Isaac also offered Isaac. Brothers and sisters, you must know what it means to possess the gates of the enemy.
Later, when Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, he also possessed the gates of the enemy; otherwise, how could they have left? When Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land, he once again possessed the gates of the enemy. So, we will discuss the third point of possessing the gates of the enemy: "Shout, for the Lord has given us the city!"
Moses performed miracles ten times, and finally led the Israelites out of Egypt and through the Red Sea, drowning all of Pharaoh's chariots in the sea. That was possessing the gates of the enemy. I ask you, did Moses know about this? He knew. He wrote the Book of Genesis. Did Joshua know? He also knew about possessing the gates of the enemy. Joshua was Moses' disciple, and he followed Moses step by step.
Everything Moses experienced was in Joshua's mind. Joshua certainly knew about possessing the gates of the enemy. Later, Joshua performed miracles, crossing the Jordan River as if on dry ground, which was very powerful. After circling Jericho for seven days, the walls collapsed, and they possessed the gates of the enemy. The city walls seemed hopeless; they were a fortified city. If people defended it to the death inside, it would be difficult to conquer the city, and even if it were conquered, it would be a long and drawn-out war of attrition.
Seven days could solve the problem. I tell you, God didn't need to do it Himself; He could have sent an angel to kick the wall with his heel, and the entire wall would have collapsed. Where did all these things come from? They all started from Abraham offering Isaac and Isaac offering Isaac: "Your descendants shall possess the gates of the enemy."
Moses inherited this from Abraham, and Joshua also inherited it, so these miracles happened. Have you inherited it? You need to ask yourself. Some people desperately hope that these miracles will happen to them, but they don't.
Then they are filled with doubt, wondering what is happening, thinking, "Oh, those are just myths." But they are not myths; they are the words of God. I think it would be a tragedy for a person to miss this concept for their entire life. Those myths, meaning they have nothing to do with me. I tell you, there is a most fatal misconception for Christians in this life, which is to regard their own experiences as truth.
Our experiences cannot be the truth. I pray, and one out of ten people gets better, one dies, and the other eight are neither better nor worse. Is that the truth? No, it is not. For example, if I sing off-key, that doesn't mean everyone sings off-key; it means I can't sing. If I think that's how songs are supposed to be, not turning when I should, and turning when I shouldn't, making people cover their ears, thinking that's how songs are sung, do you think that's reasonable? The songwriter would want to beat me up, saying, "This is not the song I wrote; this is a new song you composed yourself. You always sing a new song." But actually, it's just that I can't sing.
From the very beginning, I told everyone that the Bible clearly states that prayer can heal the sick. My experience is not the truth; God's word is the truth. Thank God, this is called a humble learning attitude. So, what are these things recorded in the Bible for? They are not myths, but God wants to tell us that such a thing happened at that time, not just old news from that era. Instead, it tells us that we can also possess the gates of the enemy today.
If you don't possess it, it doesn't prove anything, just like my singing. It's just that I haven't done it right. This is the most basic concept that everyone needs to understand. When reading the Bible, you must read out God's will. What does God want us to do? God's will is for us to emulate, learn, and also possess the gates of the enemy.
The most basic concept is that I can't do it because I don't know how. So, I practice singing, putting in the effort. I am naturally tone-deaf and have a croaky voice, so how can I sing? After I sing, everyone covers their ears, and I feel embarrassed. But it doesn't matter; I lock myself in a dark room and sing, putting in the effort to learn, learning how to vocalize, learning rhythm, learning pitch. Sometimes I rush, sometimes people finish singing and I haven't finished, and sometimes I start before people start.
That's just who I am. I don't know, but I learn. What I don't know, I learn. Everything is learned. If you are born knowing how to read, you are a demon. When you are born, you don't know anything. In the early years when we established the church, we didn't know anything and just messed around. Not to mention possessing the gates of the enemy, we were directly rubbed on the ground by demons. It was very hard, and we were often rubbed on the ground by the enemy.
How unvictorious, how difficult, how painful it was, and how much we longed for God's promises to be fulfilled in us, but they weren't. But I didn't give up. I knew that God's promises are established in heaven and will never be abandoned. It was just that I hadn't done it right. This is called learning. Everything in life is learned. Although the learning process is very hard, I have this character, climbing and walking forward step by step with difficulty.
Sometimes, after climbing for a long time, I find myself back where I started. Oh, my heart bleeds and my eyes tear up. Now, when I recall those days, my eyes still get wet. It was too difficult. But God's promises will never be abandoned. I thank God that although I was rubbed on the ground by demons, God didn't allow them to kill me.
Hoping for victory, hoping for victory, hoping for victory, hoping to possess the gates of the enemy. Did I possess them? Eventually, I possessed them. I tell you, everything is learned. I learned from God's word, and that's how I came to where I am today, putting in the effort in God's word.
So, now whether you listen to my sermons or Bible studies, you should agree with what I say. Even today, I put in the effort in God's word and never perfunctorily deal with everyone. When you come to listen to my sermons, I never serve you leftovers. I always share the latest and most carefully prepared material with you. This week's topic is excellent: "The Lord has given us the city!" He has given it to us long ago.
Although there was bloodshed, sweat, and tears in the past years, God has already given us the city. I will give you a few examples to really encourage those brothers and sisters who have not yet possessed the gates of the enemy and are living very hard lives. I really hope that you can come out of it soon, because I know how hard those days are.
Thank God, our healing and deliverance come from persevering one minute longer than the devil. In those years, if you asked me if my understanding was clear, how could it be clear if I hadn't learned it yet? In one difficult battle after another, even a small fever required five days and five nights of prayer, praying until I was so tired that I had to sleep, and then getting up and continuing. I had to persevere one minute longer than the devil. During those five days, I gained many revelations because I knew that God had predestined us to be victorious.
Persist in God's promises, always persist in God's promises. God's promises will never be abandoned. I really thank God that during that time, I developed a character of never giving up. Once, I preached a sermon, and the recording may still be on the website.
This sermon is called "Never Give Up." Thank God I didn't give up, and that's why I have come to where I am today. Later, I wrote this "Healing and Deliverance" into 102 courses, the basic theory of "Healing and Deliverance." Learning is the main theme, and my life is a life of learning.
I once started studying the Bible in English and preaching in English twice, but I failed shortly after. The second time, I mustered up the courage again to preach in English and study the Bible in English, but I failed again. Did you think I gave up? No, I didn't give up. I will continue to persevere until I become a blessing to those who speak English. Persist one minute longer than the devil, and now my understanding has improved.
Thank God for allowing us to once again conquer and seize territory, to possess the whole earth for God. Let the whole earth see God's glory, and let the whole earth be able to possess this victorious theology. We have explained many absurd phenomena in Christianity, thank God.
You know, the biggest hurdle in this process is spiritual warfare. Every time, I was rubbed on the ground by demons, not understanding, really not understanding. God, where are you? I prayed while crying. It was too painful. So, when you are in a stage of defeat, I understand very well in my heart, because I came out of there. I would rather cry with you and hope that you will come out together.
Brothers and sisters who are not victorious, tidy up your faith again and tell yourselves that the Lord has given us the city. That day, God told me to take the path of ascending to a higher place. It turned out that my height was not enough. I was fighting with demons on the plain, which is called the plain of the knowledge of good and evil. So, the truth of the knowledge of good and evil shocked me too much. It was a battle on the plain without height. In fact, that was only eleven years ago.
Later, I put everything down and stopped paying attention to what was right or wrong, what was worthy of me or not, and put it all down. I buried myself in God's word and re-acquainted myself with God. In less than half a year, I suddenly found that my whole person was bright. It turned out that the path of ascending to a higher place was really good. That's why I encourage you to learn, learn, and learn again. You must not mess around. Put down all grievances, put down all rights and wrongs, and persevere.
In fact, it is not difficult to increase spiritual height. It is just to see through the matter of being alive, to see through the things of a person's life, and you will go up quickly.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
Brothers and sisters, no matter what you are experiencing, I can tell you with tears that because of Jesus Christ, we will receive God's promises. No matter how many God's promises are, they will be fulfilled in us. This is such a wonderful thing. Start to look forward to victory, start to look forward to putting down those trivial and annoying things, and start to climb the spiritual peak.
Start to read the Book of Ecclesiastes, Genesis, Matthew, and Luke well, and start to live for God. Once you walk on this path, living becomes an extremely simple thing. There will be no fear, worry, or anxiety. Start to live out God's image in this world in a calm and unrestrained manner.
In Rick Joyner's "The Final Quest," there is a clear description that is still vivid in my mind. In the process of understanding this matter, I found something called destiny. It turned out that I came into this world not to live for myself, but to live for God. It turned out that Abraham had already opened up this path, Abraham offered Isaac, and Isaac offered Isaac. I said, "God, may you accept my offering. I want to offer myself to you, and may I live for you all my life."
If Abraham didn't see through it, how could he have offered Isaac? How could Isaac have willingly offered himself? We entered Abraham's gate, then entered Isaac's gate, and later entered Jacob's gate, and finally, through Jesus Christ, entered into Abraham's covenant of promise.
If Abraham hadn't seen through it so much, how could he have started living a wandering life? He was living well in Haran, wandering around everywhere. Do you think he was traveling by train or enjoying a self-driving tour in an SUV? He measured it step by step with his feet. If he hadn't seen through it, he wouldn't have been able to listen to God's words.
If God tells you to go east, you go west. If God tells you to chase a dog, you catch a chicken. Abraham never lived in a house with a toilet in his life. He just built a small shed in the countryside, dug a pit, and put up two boards. Who doesn't know that there are good sanitary facilities in the city? If you get close to Abraham, you will smell of sheep and sheep dung. It is actually very hard. If you don't see through it, you can't walk this path. If you don't see through it, you can't walk this path of faith.
Step by step, the path of faith leads to offering Isaac. Isaac also offered himself. This is such a great story. Moses learned this, and Joshua also learned this, offering themselves to live for God. Coming into this world is truly vanity of vanities. I really thank God that because God supports me, I can continue to walk down. Otherwise, I really don't know how to spend this empty life. I can't even bring myself to kill myself.
But continuing to walk down and live, I really don't know what to live for. Later, I came to know God and embarked on the path of serving God, and then I knew how wonderful this path is! This is the path of possessing the gates of the enemy. Some people cannot receive God's promises because they have taken the wrong path. It is not that God's promises have been abandoned, but that people have taken the wrong path.
As they walked, they did not choose Abraham, but chose Lot. Lot's path has no promises. As they walked, they took the path of Ishmael, living by the sword in their hands, and having a slave mentality like Hagar. How could that work? Lot's path has no promises, so how could it work? It is normal for the path of Ishmael not to work.
Some people walk to the path of Esau, which leads to the path of the Amalekites, who are enemies of God for generations. The church cannot see God's promises because it has entered the wrong gate. So, everyone must know that the Chinese Mingding Doctrine walks the path of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, David, and Samuel, all the way to Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul. This path is full of God's glory.
When I was leading everyone in prayer, an old woman, a brother's grandmother, had chest discomfort for several months, and she was healed in a few minutes of prayer. Those worms of hell were stuck on her chest, so it was impossible to feel comfortable. Being healed in a few minutes is because the power of the underworld is also under our feet! The church needs to know that there is no need to be surprised or doubt God's promises. As long as we know that we have entered the right gate, we are right! Now I have broken through and walked through.
I sincerely advise everyone that this path is really too good! It is so good, full of God's glory and full of God's promises. If you haven't found it yet, it doesn't matter. God has already revealed it to us. I hope that everyone will embark on this path and no longer live for themselves, but for the Lord who died, was buried, and resurrected for us. No longer use our own experiences to comment on God's promises, but use God's promises to guide our lives. This is the key.
Scripture
On the seventh time, when the priests blew the trumpets, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! The city and all that is in it are to be devoted to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the spies we sent. But keep away from the devoted things, so that you will not bring about your own destruction by taking any of them. Otherwise you will make the camp of Israel liable to destruction and bring disaster on it. All the silver and gold and the articles of bronze and iron are sacred to the Lord and must go into his treasury.” When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the army gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. They devoted the city to the Lord and destroyed with the sword every living thing in it—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep and donkeys. (Joshua 6:16-21)
Prayer
God, your promises are established in heaven and will never be abandoned. God, you will give us this city, and we will possess the gates of the enemy. God, according to the deep desires in our hearts, make us a blessing to this whole earth. Let the whole earth see your glory, and let the whole earth see your powerful gospel. God, lead us again to conquer and seize territory, and run before us, delivering the enemy to us. God, let us know that the words of the Book of the Law must not depart from our mouths.
Let us be strong and courageous; let us not be afraid or dismayed. Let us know that, with You by our side, no enemy can stand against us all our days. Arise, O God, and make us those who lead Your people into the Promised Land. O God, begin to remove the desires of our flesh. O God, Your promises will surely be fulfilled in us. You will deliver the cities of our enemies into our hands, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Scriptural Context
The background of this passage is that the city has already been given to Joshua, and then God causes the city to collapse. This is merely the result; the most important thing is how this result came about. Moses died, and then Joshua was to take over Moses' mantle and lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. As a result, Joshua thought, "My goodness, I've never been in charge before, and I didn't know being in charge was so difficult." Now, our colleagues must know that my position is not easy to hold, and I am filled with trepidation.
Can I lead the Israelites into the Promised Land? Alas, there are chariots of iron, horses of iron, and giants in that Promised Land. Their spears are like the axles of our carts, are they not? We can't even move them, so how can we fight? Just thinking about it makes me tremble and shiver. What should I do? The Jordan River is before us; where are so many boats to be found?
If you transport them across in small boats, one by one, then they will be killed off in small groups. The people of Jericho will see them crossing the Jordan River and kill them off in small groups. How can we survive like that? No matter how I think about it, I am afraid. We have no resources, and when I look at the Israelites, they are not much different from when they came out of Egypt. The more I think about it, the more afraid I become, and the more I lack answers to the problem.
"Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors I would give them. Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:6-9)
God told him, "Joshua, do not be dismayed or afraid! Let the words of this Book of the Law not depart from your mouth. Know that I will be with you." I tell you, having God with you is the key. Let the words of this Book of the Law not depart from your mouth, and no enemy will be able to stand before you all your days. When Joshua heard this, he thought, "Oh my, those giants with axles for spears will not be able to stand before me? Is that true?" Of course, Joshua did not ask God if it was true.
In the end, fear departed. Once God's words were spoken, "I am with you! Do not be afraid or dismayed! Let the words of this Book of the Law not depart from your mouth. Be strong and courageous. Know how powerful God is! It is not you who will fight, but God who will fight." Therefore, no enemy can stand before you all your days. Is the answer clear? Yes, it is. This is the faith of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Later, do you know what happened? When the feet of the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant stepped into the waters of the Jordan River, did God tell Joshua in advance that the waters of the Jordan River would part? No, at least the Bible does not say so. As a result, when they stepped into the waters of the Jordan River, the water parted with a rush! It was not the sea, but a river, and the water of the river flows downwards. The water was cut off and could no longer flow downwards, and it stood up like a wall. Then the bottom was dry ground, and crossing the Jordan River was like walking on dry ground.
Did Joshua and the Israelites know that Israel had crossed the Red Sea? Of course, they knew, but this time it was not just knowing, but personally experiencing God's words. Our brothers and sisters have also experienced healing from illness. Before, it was God's word, but now it is experiencing God's word. I hope that everyone can see that this is true. In life, when we experience a turnaround, it is just as quick.
After the faith greatly increased, the first city they experienced was called Jericho, which was full of strong soldiers and a very powerful city. The Israelites, through the experience of the Jordan River, had their faith raised, and the people in the city of Jericho had their faith digested and did not know what to do. Then God arranged for the Israelites to be circumcised, cutting off the lusts of the flesh. The people of Shechem were killed by Jacob's sons because of circumcision.
That was truly a test of faith. Without cutting off the lusts of the flesh, rushing up would be courting death. This is all faith. You must know that God can protect you. If God cannot even manage this matter, can He be called God? As a result, after the circumcision was completed, they began to circle the city, round and round.
Perhaps everyone will ask, why did God have the Israelites circle the city for seven days? Seven days is actually an accumulation of faith, and there is a very deep spiritual meaning behind it. The Israelites had just crossed the Jordan River and, after circling the city of Jericho on the first day, began to doubt God's actions. God said, "Do not speak." But in their hearts, they muttered, "Will this work?" Brothers and sisters, there are many such people among us. God says, close your mouth. Because words, once spoken, easily destroy faith. So remember, keep unbelieving words in your heart and do not easily speak them out.
Then they persisted in circling the city for seven days. Joshua commanded them to blow the trumpets, hold back for seven days, and finally shout, "The Lord has given you the entire city!" The Israelites always have faith only when they see, but God wants us to believe first and then see.
The Words of the Book of the Law Must Not Depart from Our Mouths
Many people think that Genesis to Deuteronomy is just law, but in fact, it records God's power. Bringing the people out of Egypt, the supply in the wilderness for forty years, and the promised descendants obtaining the gates of their enemies are all miracles. The Book of the Law is not law, but a record of promises. Genesis is the Book of the Law, recording God's promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and recording spiritual laws and God's power. Do not underestimate God. You may not be able to do it, but our God certainly can. You must be clear about this.
Therefore, do not let the Book of the Law depart from our mouths, because our memory only lasts for a day, and sometimes we are like a fish, only lasting for seven seconds. As soon as we encounter difficulties, we panic. We are usually very impressive, but as soon as something happens, we become discouraged. So we must read the Book of the Law every day and remember God's power every day. Never think that we are very capable.
Many people, when they encounter difficulties, always think that they are very capable. For example, when the rent is due, their minds are full of the fact that they have no money to pay the rent. Does God's power not govern these small matters? We can live from yesterday to today, and we can live to tomorrow. Have we not been supported by God all these years? What is there to worry about? God's power is the promise of the Book of the Law. If we do not know that God is fulfilling His promises, are we not being foolish?
Some people deviate as they read the Bible, reading the teachings of Kazuo Inamori and Zeng Shiqiang. What they say does not have God's power; it is all a lot of道理 (dàolǐ, principles). If there are only principles and no power of God, can that work? In the end, did they not all fail? Many people work hard every day, but let the words of the Book of the Law depart from their mouths. As a result, they get stuck when they encounter things before their eyes, and their brains cannot turn like a walnut.
Be Strong and Courageous, Do Not Be Afraid or Dismayed
It is a lie to say that we are not afraid or dismayed when we encounter things, but God says, "Be strong and courageous." Cowardly people cannot draw on God's promises. Some people are strong in business but lose everything. The problem is that they entered the wrong place—Joshua led the people into the Promised Land, but they entered Old Ma's pen. Those Evergrande-style strengths eventually made the shareholders shriveled.
The people who sell houses also tell me that they have no electricity and are quite strong. For what? For money. Are those the words of the Book of the Law? You have entered the wrong hole and walked into Esau's logical system. Many Christians especially like to pray before doing business. I am not saying that you cannot pray, but you have to see if this thing is your core interest. If making money is your core interest, you don't even need to think about it; God's promise is not in this place.
So being strong and courageous is a choice. What is there to fear? What is there to be afraid of? God is with me. So brothers and sisters, if there is fear in people, let the words of this Book of the Law not depart from your mouths. You must know how great God's power is and be strong. But the goal must be right. What is your goal? The goal is to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. This is the scope of the promise.
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob opened up a glorious path in eternity. Some people live only for this life, and the little things in this life are all their core interests. You don't even need to think about it; I don't think prayer will help. The circle is wrong, and there is no promise of God in that circle.
No Enemy Can Stand Before You All Your Days
No enemy can stand before you all your days. Let the Book of the Law not depart from your mouth, and always remember God's promises. The Book of the Law speaks of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It is very powerful. If you can thoroughly understand these five books, understand the matter of curses and blessings, and understand what kind of people God likes and dislikes, you will never encounter an opponent in your life.
You will have no opponents in your life, and you will be invincible throughout the world. This is God's promise. It was fulfilled in Joshua, and no enemy could stand before him. So we really need to learn. I tell you, the first people to learn from are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Why not the God of Moses and Joshua? Because Moses and Joshua are both in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Arise, Lead the People into the Promised Land
You must arise and lead the people into the Promised Land. Arise, lead the people into the Promised Land? There are no boats. I tell you, the thing I hate most is when people explain things to me. Everyone should think about it slowly. You must know that all leaders do not like employees explaining, "It's not like this, it's like that," finding a bunch of reasons, but not solving the problem.
For example, Joshua, "Arise, there are no boats." God is annoyed by this kind of person, who always says, "There is no this, there is no that." I think, forget it, and God will give you a "forget it." Let's not talk about having this or not having that, giving a whole bunch of reasons. I tell you, we had nothing when we established the church. And in Singapore, there is a church in every square kilometer, and their churches are very good. Our church was too shabby to mention.
Some brothers and sisters said, "Teacher, I'm not going next week." I said, "Then where are you going?" "I'm going to that big church." Finished, alas, my heart was cold. We really can't compare. Their lighting, sound system, and worship leaders are, to be honest, really quite good. But, I tell you, even without conditions, I must enter the Promised Land.
Now, what is the point of looking at those things? Arise, lead the people into the Promised Land. Back then, I seized this one point. My goodness, the promise must be fulfilled, and not one of God's promises cannot be fulfilled. What conditions? Nothing is needed. I only need God's word. So we must say, where are those who study the Bible better than us? Why are you so arrogant? Actually, it's not arrogance. I'm telling the truth. It doesn't matter if you don't agree.
It was just that there were no conditions at that time, just like you now, there are no conditions, but I have God's promise. Thank God, now we have become a church that leads brothers and sisters into the Promised Land, removing the lusts of the flesh before fighting.
Remove the Lusts of the Flesh
Circumcision was not performed in the wilderness for forty years. Later, they grew up, and some were at least in their thirties. Counting down from thirty-eight, they had not been circumcised. Circumcision means removing the lusts of the flesh. I tell you, what hinders us from victory and hinders us from drawing on God's promises, the most deadly of which is the lusts of the flesh.
For example, loving the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, the pride of life, and the logical system of the world, what hinders us is ourselves. So the matter of circumcision must be before taking the city. Our church must continue to deal with the lusts of the flesh. If you cannot follow, first, the Book of the Law often departs from your mouth. Second, you are timid and not strong and courageous. Third, you often cannot stand before the enemy. Fourth, you also do not want to enter the Promised Land; you want to enter the Land of Curses, you want to enter Sodom and Gomorrah. Fifth, you also do not want to remove the lusts of the flesh.
The Ark of the Covenant Goes Before You
The Ark of the Covenant is the covenant that God has made with us. When you open the Ark of the Covenant, you see the Ten Commandments, the manna, and the budding rod. Carrying the Ark of the Covenant before us means that God is before us. That is God's covenant. There are several important things in it, one of which is authority. Authority is established by God, so people are not to obey authority, but to obey God.
Then you must know God's promise, that Israel neither plants nor weaves, but for forty years in the wilderness, they lacked nothing, were not hungry, were not thirsty, but were really tired of eating.
Then there are the Ten Commandments. Later, these Ten Commandments were continuously unfolded by Moses, and there was Deuteronomy, which speaks of blessings and curses. If you carefully obey the words of the Lord your God, carefully obey the statutes, ordinances, and commandments of the Lord your God, this is the key. When people walk in front, do not mutter there. The most deadly thing is to mutter, and then after muttering, say it out loud, "Can this thing work?" This sentence is quite corrupting. It is best to close your mouth and just wait for God's promise to be fulfilled. "See, God has given you this city."
Shout, the Lord Has Given You This City
Because God is fighting before you, why did the people in the city of Jericho not dare to come out? Because their hearts were digested. It was God who made their hearts digested. How did God make their hearts digested? Having nightmares every day, and every day God put the victory of the Israelites in his dreams, wouldn't the morale of the army collapse?
I tell you, once the morale of the army collapses, nothing is useful. No matter how solid the city walls are, they cannot withstand God's kick. Did it collapse? It collapsed! The entire city wall collapsed, and the Israelites not only crossed the Jordan River as if walking on dry ground, but also entered the city of Jericho as if walking on dry ground.
But there is one thing that is difficult for you to accept, which is to kill all the men, women, old, and young in this city. At this time, never argue with God, do not argue with God. God says to do it this way, then do it this way. I tell you, whoever is an enemy of God is courting death. Who told you to be an enemy of God? Being an enemy of God is death, early death or late death is still death.
This time, don't go and argue, "Oh, why is God like this?" If you keep him, he will also die. God wants to destroy those who are enemies of God. If you want to be enemies of God, it's about the same. But Rahab's family was saved. Whoever calls on God, whoever seeks Him, God will save.
So God promises us that we will obtain the gates of our enemies. This promise was fulfilled in Moses, fulfilled in Joshua, fulfilled in David, fulfilled in Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul. Now this promise will also be fulfilled in us. We will obtain the gates of our enemies. God has given us this city, Amen.
Our sermon ends here. May God bless everyone.
