[Bible Study] 1 Peter Chapter 4 - The Perplexing Theology of Suffering

2026-02-25 1

Introduction

Good morning, everyone. Today, we will delve into 1 Peter, Chapter 4. In the previous chapter, I somewhat jokingly labeled Peter as leaning towards Mahayana Buddhism. Now, as we arrive at 1 Peter, Chapter 4, if you were to ask me, I would genuinely want to ask Peter: What exactly are you trying to convey in this chapter? It leaves me utterly perplexed. I suspect that not only do I find it difficult to comprehend, but many of you may also struggle. If any of you genuinely understand it, please enlighten me. If anyone among us feels they have a clear understanding, please explain what he is saying.

I consider myself a diligent reader. An author needs to conceptualize, to articulate a specific theme, and to construct an argument around that theme. The theme of this chapter could be described as: The perplexing theology of suffering. Over the years, I have observed many Christians living lives of hardship. When I inquire whether they have experienced God's blessings, the answer is often negative. They lament their suffering. I often wonder whether their suffering is akin to the suffering of Jesus Christ, or merely self-inflicted. It is fundamentally different from the suffering of Jesus Christ.

Some individuals, upon being diagnosed with cancer, perceive themselves as modern-day Jobs. This is a rather common occurrence. They feel unjustly afflicted by cancer. But is it truly unjust? Upon closer examination, one often discovers a "cancer personality." Is this suffering for the sake of Jesus Christ, or suffering due to one's own actions? For instance, consider a couple constantly engaged in conflict, a perpetual battle of wits. Is this suffering for the sake of Jesus Christ, or merely inflicting pain upon themselves? Today, we will discuss how to view and understand this.

The Suffering of Jesus Christ in the Flesh

I ask you, when Jesus Christ lived on earth, did He suffer from cancer? Did His physical body undergo chemotherapy or radiation? Did He suffer from ankylosing spondylitis, herniated discs, or rheumatoid arthritis? No. I did not witness Jesus Christ suffering during His earthly life. I saw Him living a fulfilling life, did I not? As for what He did before His ministry, we do not know. My assumption is that He continued in His father's trade as a carpenter, being the son of a carpenter. He did that until about the age of thirty, and then He began His ministry. Did He not live quite well with His brothers and sisters? What suffering did He endure? I did not see Him suffer.

When did Jesus Christ suffer? It was in preparation for offering Himself to accomplish salvation, suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. He ate the Last Supper in the Upper Room. During the Last Supper, we did not see Jesus Christ suffering. John even leaned comfortably on Jesus' chest. Later, in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus knelt and prayed, His sweat falling like drops of blood. What was this cup of suffering? He was to be arrested, abused, beaten, and crucified. This was the suffering of Jesus Christ!

I did not see Jesus Christ suffering from cancer, undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. I did not see Jesus Christ suffering from diarrhea or stomach ailments. If He were a woman, I did not see Jesus Christ suffering from menstrual cramps. The suffering of Jesus Christ provides us with an excellent example. In fact, if we carefully examine the suffering of the Apostle Paul, it is not as we often portray it.

Peter did not really feel that he had suffered much. The Apostle Paul even envied Peter. In his letters, he wrote: Do I not have the right to take a believing wife along with me, as do the other apostles and brothers of the Lord and Peter? Do I not have the right to marry a sister? Why? Because Peter traveled with his wife, and wherever they went, the churches welcomed them, providing free food and lodging, did they not? Peter was a great apostle, and his reputation alone impressed many people. If I had lived in that era, and Peter had come to my area, whom else would I have welcomed?

Therefore, this matter of suffering is peculiar. It is not the suffering that Jesus Christ endured in the flesh. As for whether Peter's wife rode on his back and defecated, I do not know. However, Paul's statement is quite accurate: Those who marry will face many troubles in this life. What benefit is there in that suffering? Let us, brothers and sisters, consider what benefit there is.

Today, among us brothers and sisters, I do not encourage divorce. Please do not misunderstand me. Is it not normal to experience suffering in the flesh? I tell you, I do not want you to misunderstand me. Choosing to marry is not a sin, and choosing to take a wife is not a sin. Having these physical needs is not a sin, do you understand? God created mankind in this way. It is normal to worry about your children! It is normal to feel pain when your children are sick! However, is this the suffering of Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ did not endure this suffering.

The suffering of Jesus Christ in the flesh was to offer Himself as a living sacrifice, a burnt offering, completely dedicated, nailed to the cross to accomplish His great salvation. Through the precious blood of Jesus Christ, we have peace; through the wounds of Jesus Christ, we are healed; through the punishment of Jesus Christ, we have peace; through the precious blood of Jesus Christ, we are redeemed, is this not the logic? We must know that you are to emulate Jesus Christ.

If you are truly willing to dedicate your life to God as a living sacrifice, you will suffer less, will you not? Today, the suffering I see among Christians is rarely the suffering that comes from offering oneself as a living sacrifice, is it? Let us all discuss this. Every time I lead in prayer, I often hear people say: Teacher, my hip is failing; Teacher, I am dizzy; Teacher, my throat hurts again; Teacher, I am uncomfortable. It is all trivial matters, is it not? Is there any glory in these things? There is no glory. This is not the suffering that Jesus Christ endured in the flesh.

If a person emulates Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, will they suffer so much? I ask you, what suffering did Abraham endure? I do not see that he endured much suffering. Isaac, in the Bible, Isaac never suffered in his life. Why? Because he dedicated himself to God. What suffering did he endure? God had great grace upon Jacob. Jacob endured some hardship tending sheep, and that was all, was it not? Even while tending sheep, he enjoyed it. How do you know he was suffering? Joseph, when he went to Egypt as a slave, lived a glorious life, rising to the top of the pyramid of slaves. Was he not remarkable?

Do not assume that a person who loves God will endure much suffering in the flesh. However, there is one thing: one day you will dedicate yourself to God. This is emulating the suffering of Jesus Christ, and this is the right way. When I serve God, and labor for God, it is not quite right to say that I suffer much. It is more accurate to say that I receive much grace.

Think about it. If I were not serving God, what would I be like today? Retired, enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning and a cup of coffee in the evening. After a while, the coffee shop would no longer see me. That is probably how it would be. Brothers and sisters, no matter how old you are, I encourage everyone to develop a good habit: do not endure much suffering in the flesh for yourself, but dedicate yourself to Jesus Christ. That is a blessing!

Conundrum 1: He who has suffered in his body is done with sin

Brothers and sisters, I have seen many who have suffered in their bodies who are not done with sin. What kind of theory is this? I have searched through the teachings of Jesus Christ, the teachings of Moses, and the teachings of the Apostle Paul, and I cannot find this statement. Peter invented it. Peter is particularly remarkable. He invented many things that Jesus did not teach. What is this? What does it mean to have suffered in the body and be done with sin? I do not see Abraham suffering so much.

In fact, this logic is consistent with the Christianized Buddhism and asceticism discussed in Chapter 3. Some people believe in this idea of suffering in the flesh, and then they suffer greatly in the flesh. Hinduism uses large iron tongs to mistreat themselves, piercing their bodies and walking on the road. Some walk on hot coals, and there are other practices as well. They believe that suffering eliminates sin. But who knows why you are suffering? Only you know. A couple argues all day long, and they are very bitter. Is this not suffering? Does that make them sinless? Are they done with sin? There is no such thing.

If you truly dedicate yourself to God, offering your flesh and your body as a living sacrifice to God, it is not so bitter. I have met some pastors who suffer greatly in the flesh and think they are suffering for Jesus Christ. Is that the case? When you share with them about healing and casting out demons, they say: I have suffered much in the flesh and am done with sin. Until their death, I did not see them done with sin, did I?

There was once a preacher who had cancer. His belly was huge, filled with fluid. When outsiders came, he acted very spiritual. But as soon as the outsiders left, he groaned in front of his family. Sometimes the sound was terrifying. If such a person dies, it leaves a deep shadow on the family, does it not? Today, brothers and sisters, we must know that it is not that Peter did not have the concept of eternal life. He did have the concept of eternal life, but what he wrote is very dangerous. It is written as if it is, and as if it is not, which has caused profound confusion for later Christians.

Fortunately, I am a clever person. Peter has made the church like this, so let us not learn from him. Later, when I read 1 Peter and 2 Peter, I found that there are some things that are correct. However, there are too many elements that he invented himself. The gospel of Jesus Christ cannot be added to or subtracted from. If you put to death the misdeeds of the body, that is right. That is putting to death the misdeeds of the body through the power of the Holy Spirit. That is the gospel. If you suffer in the flesh, does that not become Buddhism?

Conundrum 2: Being slandered for being a Christian

Being slandered is a perplexing thing. We used to have a brother who was possessed by a demon while studying for his doctorate. After searching around, they found me. I filled him with the Holy Spirit and cast out the demon. He was healed and returned to normal. However, the demon in this person changed its tactics, and many things in this person became strange and distorted. I did not teach him these things. When he returned to his hometown and saw his parents, he immediately said: Who is my mother? Oh my goodness, would you say he deserved a beating? Can you say that?

Later, I discovered that many Christians do not know how to behave. If you say to your mother, "Who is my mother?" would she not slap you? Are you drunk? You say it is not because he is being slandered for being a Christian, but because Jesus Christ is being slandered because of him. He does not even know how to behave. Can you do that? Therefore, many people become Christians and are slandered.

Is this because they are Christians? No, it is because they have become foolish in their faith. There was a Christian whose father-in-law invited him to dinner. The food was prepared, and he bowed his head and prayed: Lord, I thank you for the food you have given me. His father-in-law was stunned: I cooked this food! You say: Lord, I thank you for the food you have given me. Would you say that this is knowing how to behave? Is he acting foolishly? When people invite me to dinner, and I thank the Lord for the food, I feel that it is annoying, is it not?

What I fear most is people becoming foolish, becoming foolish in their faith. Is this the work of a demon, a person, or Jesus? Would Jesus teach you this way? Jesus would not teach you this way. Jesus taught you to be as shrewd as snakes. The teachings of Jesus Christ were later passed down by the Apostle Paul. What did the Apostle Paul say? He said: To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law.

If you say to unbelievers, "Who is my mother?" is that not asking for a beating? Is it not? Being slandered, is it because you are being slandered for believing in Jesus? No, it is because you have become foolish, foolish. For example, outsiders come to eat, and a group of Christians prays from the first person to the last person. An hour passes, and the food is cold, is it not?

You can start praying when you are cooking, can you not? Can you not pray before the food is served? You should pray well when you are cooking. I am filled with emotion. Once, they invited me to dinner. They knew I was a Christian and were waiting for me to pray, asking if I wanted to have some kind of ritual. I said: There is no ritual. Come on, let us eat. And that was it.

There was a doctoral student (Doctor B) whose church was led by a pastor I knew. Then he developed insomnia and could not sleep. You know, our doctoral student (Doctor A), although he went home and said to his mother, "Who is my mother?" he still prayed very diligently. Praying diligently naturally leads to good sleep.

These two doctoral students had a conversation. A said, "How long do you pray every day?" B said, "Five minutes." A said, "Is that just praying before meals?" B said, "Yes, I just pray before meals." A said, "Then how can you not have insomnia?" Our doctoral student was quite clear. Then B asked, "How long do you pray every day?" A said, "I pray for one to two hours every day."

This is really true. Brothers and sisters, this long period of prayer is very useful. Do not think that focusing on understanding means eliminating praying in tongues. That is not right, is it? We must pray with our understanding and also pray in the Spirit. This is the teaching of the Bible. What happened? The two of them looked at each other, and B said, "Then you lead me in prayer. My pastor told me to find you to pray." As a result, our doctoral student led him in prayer, and his insomnia really improved.

Our doctoral student came back and said to me, "Teacher, do you know? He only prays for five minutes a day. How can he not have insomnia?" Therefore, being a Christian requires being smart, being as shrewd as snakes. This is the teaching of Jesus Christ. Do not think that being slandered is because you are being slandered for believing in Jesus. It is because you have become foolish. People who have become foolish are annoying to look at, are they not?

For example, if a person is a Christian and sees an Indian sitting next to him in a restaurant, and a crow flies over. Someone sees the crow and says, "Look at this crow, it is so black, dirty, and ugly." As a result, the Indian sitting next to him stands up and leaves. He is angry. Is this not a problem with your brain? You do not know that someone is sitting next to you, so why do you say this? Remember, do not speak of short things in front of short people. For example, after the renovation is completed, you comment, "This door is so short and fat, how ugly." If there is a shorter and fatter person next to you, will they not hate you? This is being insensitive.

Christians cannot always say, "I am telling the truth." We have a sister among us who says annoying truths every day. She feels ashamed to say nice things. This sister is from Shandong. She said, "Teacher, I just cannot say those nice things. I think that is too fake. I just want to be a real person, even if it is annoying." But this has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, do you understand? You have just become a very bad Christian, foolish.

Conundrum 3: The gospel was preached even to those who are dead

The previous chapter said that Jesus was nailed to the cross, breathed his last, and then went to preach to the spirits in prison. His logic is quite interesting. Is he trying to save the dead? I read the English version, and it also says that the gospel was preached to the dead. I am confused. Can you still hear the gospel after you die? If you can still hear the gospel after you die, how many people will be misled? Can you not believe well when you are alive? Do you have to wait until you die, let the dead hear the gospel, and then believe? Is that the case?

What Did Jesus Really Say? Jesus said: God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. If you live like that when you are alive, what can you do after you die? Is there another chance after death? If so, then Jesus would truly be a Bodhisattva of great mercy, saving people from suffering. You've got it all wrong; Jesus is not about that. Jesus never said anything about preaching the gospel to the dead; that was written by Peter.

Peter is practically an inventor in Christianity, but I think there may be a wonderful arrangement behind this. Look, he was a great apostle who denied the Lord three times. Later, Jesus asked him, "Do you love me?" Peter said he loved Jesus three times, although he later caused some confusion in the church and wrote these confusing words.

I feel that God is a rock that trips people up! Thank God I didn't stumble on Peter's rock. Peter is a pit, isn't he? Don't you think he has misled many people? If you are a Christian and stumble on Peter, whom Jesus Christ arranged, isn't Peter just a small pebble? You are Peter, you are a rock, and you are going to do this thing. I am going to arrange for you to do these things. Therefore, concerning the Chinese Mingding Doctrine, I really want everyone to learn to be as shrewd as snakes and not fall into the pit dug by Peter.

Confusion Four: The Flesh is Judged, the Spirit Lives by God

Peter separates the flesh from the spirit. Can they be separated like this? Later, in the history of Christianity, there was dualism and trinitarianism. What is dualism? The soul and the body; that's dualism. Trinitarianism is spirit, soul, and body. That is, for a person, it doesn't matter if your flesh sins; the flesh is judged, but your soul and spirit are unaffected. It's separated. But I don't think this is right. If you ask me if I have any logic of soul, spirit, and body, I really haven't studied it, and I don't know how to separate them, do I?

I only know that this person overcomes through Jesus Christ while alive. As for whether it is my spirit, my soul, or my flesh that overcomes, how can you ask me to separate them? I can't separate them. What does it mean for the flesh to be judged? What does it mean for the spirit to live by God? I don't know if Peter understands. So sometimes I think, when there is a chance, when that day comes, whether I see Paul or Peter, let's discuss what this is all about; it's quite confusing.

Some people say: The flesh is of no avail; it is the spirit that gives life. If you say this, and the flesh is of no avail, what do you think about the flesh sinning? The gospel of our Jesus Christ is to redeem our bodies, not for the flesh to be unredeemed. This is the victorious concept of the Chinese Mingding Doctrine. The flesh can sin, and the soul is saved by God. This separate concept sounds heretical. Your flesh will be judged, and your spirit lives by God. Doesn't that sound a bit heretical? My logic is simple: when you are alive, live out the image of Jesus Christ; that is salvation. That is, when you are alive in the flesh, you can live out the image of God, isn't that the case?

If you live like a ghost and your soul is saved after death, that's a bit heretical. Then the question arises: God gave Peter a chance to be martyred, but what if you don't have one? You live like a little devil when you are alive, bad from a young age, and then old, the bad guy gets old, the bad guy dies, and then is saved. Doesn't that sound a bit heretical? This is a confusion, and I dare not make a decision for you. I dare not draw a conclusion for you. I can only say that this is a confusing matter.

Today, everyone must know that these things Peter put forward are dangerous theological concepts, all invented by himself. We can't follow what he says; we must return to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Thank God, we have almost searched the entire Bible, both the New Testament and the Old Testament. Don't be confused by this thing. To this day, I have actually heard many people on the Internet talk about 1 Peter. After listening, they are even more confused than Peter, at best as confused as Peter.

Confusion Five: Love Covers a Multitude of Sins

Love covers a multitude of sins. Has anyone seen Jesus teach this? I don't know. Oh, I was wondering whose sins Peter was covering up? I think I have guessed it; Peter loves his wife. He says: I love my wife, so I cover up my wife's sins. My wife persecutes me and doesn't let me serve well.

Covers a multitude of sins. How can this be covered? I can't read this. Jesus Christ died on the cross. Does that cover a multitude of sins, or what? Does it let you live in sin? No, it lets you overcome sin through Jesus Christ. Don't ever think: Jesus Christ can still cover my sins, so I will live in sin. If you live in sin and get cancer and continue to live in sin, God will not let you go. How can it be covered? God's love is not a reason for us to cover up sin; it is for us to overcome through Jesus Christ. Read the Apostle Paul carefully, read Jesus Christ carefully; those are all concepts of victory.

Some people ask me: What is salvation and what is victory? I think they are the same thing. Isn't it? If you believe in the Lord well, what are you doing if you don't overcome? I don't know what you believe in the Lord for. Let's just keep reclaiming lost ground bit by bit and overcome. Some people stop moving forward after reclaiming for a while. God will definitely kick you. As for how to kick, let's see; everyone has their own way of being kicked. God wants us to overcome. Why? He wants us to live out the image of God. What's the point of living neither human nor ghost? Love covers a multitude of sins. You don't understand it, and I don't understand it either. I don't think Peter necessarily knows what he is saying. Everyone must know that a person like Peter is a very confused person.

I'll tell you the truth. Today, brothers and sisters, don't give yourself 100% to your small pastor. You must give yourself to the word of God. Do you understand? If your small pastor is a Peter, what will you do? I can't guarantee it either. How did you choose him? I chose him to be a small pastor so that he can be trained in that position, so that he can grow in that position, not so that he is like a saint in that position. He is not yet a saint; even Paul is not a saint, I am not a saint, and Peter is not a saint.

Someone said: Look, he asked me to invest, and I lost a lot of money after investing. The money is in your account; don't blame others, do you hear? Don't believe anyone; just believe in the word of God, do you understand? I often teach everyone not to believe me, don't I? One day if I borrow money from you, oh, this person is possessed by a demon. I remember that this pastor once said that he doesn't borrow money from people. Once he borrows money, he is possessed by a demon, isn't that the case?

Confusion Six: What is Suffering with Christ?

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:12-13)

What is suffering with Christ? Being deceived and owing hundreds of thousands, is that suffering together? Is it? That's not called suffering with Christ; Jesus doesn't owe money, do you understand? Identifying good and evil all day long, getting cancer, what is called suffering with Jesus Christ? Jesus doesn't suffer this suffering, does he? If you are insulted for the name of Christ, aren't these all confusing words?

If you go home and say to your mother, "Who is my mother?" won't she slap you? Is that called suffering with Jesus Christ? No. So everyone must know that not all suffering is glorious; a lot of suffering is related to our sinning and being cursed. This is a very important discovery of the Chinese Mingding Doctrine. It's not that you are like Jesus just because you believe in the Lord; you are far from it, and many things are still living under a curse.

It is to reclaim the unpossessed land within us piece by piece and dedicate it to God; that is called holiness to the Lord. How much of your inner self has not been reclaimed? A lot, isn't it? Love of money, selfishness, it's all like this. And the most deadly thing is that foolish energy; that foolish energy has not been reclaimed. Reclaim it and dedicate it to God, becoming a person like Jesus. Suffering with Christ, what Peter said is actually a bit heretical.

Let me tell you, a pastor was arrested. After he was arrested, they checked his accounts and found that he was not so clean, but it is difficult to be completely clean. Then his good friend mentioned to me that he knew that the pastor was arrested not because of demolishing crosses, but because of one thing: he hung a large banner in the church prohibiting praying in tongues because he offended God.

Is that suffering with Christ? No, that is violating the word of God, living under a curse, and the entire theological system is extremely chaotic. Do you understand? Many are receiving God's discipline, but people are stubborn, going their own way, and distorting the gospel, twisting it all up. If God doesn't discipline him, who will he discipline? He will definitely discipline him.

Confusion Seven: Is Suffering as a Christian God's Will?

Everyone, tell me, is suffering as a Christian God's will?

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. (1 Peter 4:16)

Have you noticed that I rarely preach the gospel of suffering? Think about it, if I say to people, "Come and believe in the Lord with me," and they ask, "What are the benefits of believing in the Lord with you?" and I answer, "There are no benefits; you will suffer," how does that sound to you? If I say, "Oh, come and believe in the Lord with me," and they say, "Why should I believe in the Lord with you? What am I doing with you?" and I say, "Carry the cross with me," they say, "The laptop bag I carry to work every day, I bought a very powerful computer with a separate graphics card, three kilograms, it's too heavy. You give me another cross; how heavy is that cross? These three kilograms are already enough."

Do you understand? Many people preach the gospel like this. So what do I preach? I preach letting people share in the benefits of the gospel, including putting to death the passions and desires of our flesh, which are all benefits of receiving the gospel. What people preach is not the benefits of the gospel; they preach the burden of the gospel, isn't it? Jesus said: Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Isn't that the case? Suffering as a Christian, it seems that suffering as a Christian is all because of suffering for Jesus Christ. Jesus doesn't really need this; Jesus really doesn't need this.

At a critical moment, for example, if you are a prophet in Jerusalem and those politicians in Jerusalem crucify you, that's normal, isn't it? Because there are two kingdoms, isn't there? Don't preach burdens; preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a burden; it is a light burden. Jesus Christ's yoke is easy. Why are we laboring and heavy laden? Because we are too carnal and cannot see through.

Confusion Eight: What is Committing One's Soul to the Lord?

Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. (1 Peter 4:19)

Oh my goodness, it sounds so great, wow, a faithful Creator, it sounds so powerful. What does it mean? After you read it, do you think it's powerful? This is very troublesome, isn't it?

You suffer, but it doesn't matter. You are not blessed in the world and live very hard. It doesn't matter if you live very hard; your soul will be saved. Let me tell you, when I first believed in the Lord, there was a group of Christians who preached this gospel to me. I couldn't stand it after listening. Why? When will this suffering end? Everything I do goes wrong. What do you say I should do? Everything I do goes wrong. I should solve this little problem of living first, but they don't solve it.

They say: You are like this when you are alive, but you can go to heaven after you die. I said: Heaven? If I can't solve the things of the living, can I solve the things of the dead? Everyone, tell me, if you can't see the glory of God when you are alive, can you see it after you die? At that time, I especially disliked this empty theory, suffering and sinning while alive, and then committing the soul to the Lord. I still believe in a gospel that can solve problems.

Come, let me explain to you, when Jesus was crucified, with his last breath, he said: Father, into your hands I commit my spirit! Just this one sentence. If you see Jesus preaching all day long, training disciples all day long, and healing the sick and casting out demons, have you seen Jesus saying: Receive my soul? No, there is no such thing. He only said when he was about to die: God, receive my soul. "Your soul is already saved, the flesh doesn't matter." Oh, Peter's words are quite misleading.

Some people ask: Pastor, my mother died. Did she go to heaven? To be honest, I don't know. Why care about this? Isn't it? What's the point of caring about this? If she went to heaven and you want comfort, I will tell you that she definitely went up. I am sure. How can I be sure? I am definitely going to comfort you. Although I said it today, I am not afraid. Comfort is still effective at that time.

Oh, I sigh in my heart, when did we believe in the God of the living as the God of the dead? When did our God become the God of the dead? It is so that we can fully receive the benefits of this gospel while we are alive, isn't it? Oh, let's sigh.

1 Peter wrote a long article, but he wrote a long article of confusing words. To this day, there are still many people who think 1 Peter is well written. I ask them: Do you understand it? They don't understand it either. What's so good about it? They don't know how to implement it.

Let's do a little summary. This gospel is not a gospel of suffering; this gospel is a gospel of living out the glorious image of God, living out the glorious appearance that God created us to have, like the image of God, do you understand? Living not as an ascetic, but as the living, true, and living God dwelling within us, able to live out the image of God, how wonderful.

No longer speaking empty things, we must live out the glorious appearance of Jesus Christ. Do you think what I am saying is a bit subversive to our traditional theological concepts? Actually, it is right to be subversive. I want to destroy this hypocritical image of Peter, and I want to dismantle this hypocritical thing of James, so that we can live out the image of God. Don't think that suffering in the flesh is like suffering for God; God doesn't really need you to contribute; God doesn't need it. What does God need? What God needs is for you to receive the benefits of this gospel.

May God bless everyone!
